MI6.co.uk, a James Bond Web site, reported a rumor that ER star Goran Visnjic may play the villain in the upcoming 22nd 007 movie. Citing an unnamed Croatian newspaper, the site said that Croatia native Visnjic will leave ER later this year to play the role opposite Daniel Craig's James Bonda role that Visnjic originally auditioned for but lost.
The site further reported that Visnjic would play the former lover of Vesper Lynd (Eva Green), who appeared in and perished in Casino Royale, the first of what is envisioned as a new trilogy of Bond films

Säger som XC, jag ser inte Bond-filmer längre så bryr mig inte nåt vidare vilka som är med eller inte. Daniel Craigs insats mottogs överväldigande positivt om jag fattat saken rätt och ställer han bara upp så lär han få axla rollen många gånger till.

Detta vore en katastrof. Goran Visnjic fixade inte rollen i ER och kommer inte heller att klara av att spela i en så stor film som Bond!
Jag vet inte ens vad jag gjort om han blivit den nya Bond.

Jag tycker Goran Visnjic är bra så jag tycker att han nog kan vara en bra Bond-karaktär.

Tycker han är duktig i ER och har haft många starka scener, men han var (tillsammans med allt annat) urusel i Elektra. Så vi får väl se. Om det här nu må stämma.
Fox News' Roger Friedman is reporting that The Diving Bell and the Butterfly star Mathieu Amalric will play James Bond's villain in Bond 22 and that Leona Lewis may sing the new theme for the film. Here's a clip from the report:
Even though sources insist it's true, Amalric would neither confirm nor deny. Since his "Diving Bell" character communicates through blinking, we thought of asking him to do just that — one for yes, two for no — but thought better of it. Anyway, expect a formal announcement shortly. This is a done deal.
Daniel Craig will play 007 again in the 22nd installment.
Aston Martin has announced that their new flagship model, the DBS, will once again be driven by James Bond (Daniel Craig) in the next 007 film to be produced by Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli for EON Productions, and directed by Marc Forster.
CommanderBond.Net has learned that Swiss actor Anatole Taubmann has been cast as a henchman to the Bond 22 villain, to be played by Mathieu Amalric (The Diving Bell and the Butterfly). The site said:
Taubmann is not allowed to tell any specific details on his role as he was sworn to secrecy, but he confirmed that he has a personal trainer as the role is physically demanding. Reports indicate that it's an important role with lots of action and dialogue scenes. Shooting for Taubmann is reported to go from January until June at various locations.
The internet is currently abuzz with rumours that St Trinian's actress Gemma Arterton will be the next Bond girl, as reported in several tabloids today. Though we'd encourage you not to believe anything everything you read in the red tops, Empire has learned from a source who's in a position to be absolutely sure that this casting is 100% true.
What's not absolutely certain yet is whether Arterton will be the main Bond girl, like Eva Green in Casino Royale, or one of the peripheral lovelies like Caterina Murino and that other one. But what we're hearing suggests that she'll be in a fairly major role.
The storyline for Bond 22 – or 007 as it's rumoured to be called after Daniel Craig accidentally slipped up slightly on a talk show – is, of course, still under wraps, so there's no knowing what her role might be. Arterton's certainly got the looks for the part, though we can't judge her acting skills yet as we've yet to see St Trinian's, her first movie. But we do know she's lovely.
It seems as if James Bond will be facing more than one enemy in Bond 22. After the confirmed castings of French Mathieu Amalric and Swiss Anatole Taubman, Mexican actor Jaquin Cosio claims to have landed the role of a Latin American General called "General Medrano".
Mexican newspaper El Diario runs a big story on the casting in today’s issue.
"There are various enemies, and I’m one of them. I’m General Medrano, Bond’s enemy in Latin America, but there are other enemies waiting in Europe for Bond"
, he told El Diario while phoning from Mexico City. According to the actor, he was chosen from a list of about 500 Latin American actors, among them stars such as Daniel Jimenez Cach (Y tu Mama Tambien).
"I’m really pleased to be chosen to participate in such a huge film, it’s a great achievement that the film will feature a Mexican actor" the 45-year old told the newspaper. Shooting will start for him in early February 2008. "I still don’t know much of the script, I don’t really know what my scenes will be like, but I know that I’m going to film in Panama, Bolivia and London", the actor said. Related to this, CBn has just learned that Anatole Taubman is also scheduled for a Bolivia shoot, which makes Bolivia the fifth official location for Bond 22. Other locations include Italy, Austria, Panama and England.
Cosio also confirmed what has been rumoured long before: Italian actor Giancarlo Giannini will reprise his role as Rene Mathis from Casino Royale. "I’m very delighted to be in one film with Giannini and Judi Dench", the Mexican said. Still, "so far I’m not thinking about leaving for Hollywood after Bond 22. I’m very pleased with how my latest projects are going here in Mexcio."
Producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli of EON Productions Ltd, Sony Pictures Entertainment and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios announced today the start of principal photography on the eagerly anticipated 22nd James Bond adventure. Daniel Craig reprises his role as 007 in the film which is directed by Marc Forster and follows the success of Casino Royale, the latest and highest grossing film in the series.
Starring alongside Craig is an impressive international cast led by the critically acclaimed French actor Mathieu Amalric as the sinister villain, and the Ukranian actress Olga Kurylenko who plays 007's leading lady.
Returning to Bond 22 (working title) from Casino Royale are Judi Dench in her role as M, Jeffrey Wright as Felix Leiter and Giancarlo Giannini as Mathis. Newcomer to the Bond franchise, Gemma Arterton, will play the role of MI6 Agent Fields.
Commenting on the announcement, Wilson and Broccoli said, "We are fortunate to continue in the Bond tradition of attracting the finest international actors for our starring roles. Mathieu in the role of Dominic Greene, a leading member of the villainous organization introduced in 'Casino Royale,' will be a powerful counterpart to Daniel's portrayal of Bond. Olga Kurylenko will play the dangerously alluring Camille, who challenges Bond and helps him come to terms with the emotional consequences of Vesper's betrayal."
MGM and Sony Pictures will share distribution rights worldwide with Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Releasing International distributing the film to theaters worldwide on November 7th, 2008. Marc Forster directs the screenplay by Neal Purvis & Robert Wade and Paul Haggis. The unit includes Production Designer Dennis Gassner, Director of Photography Roberto Schaefer, Editors Matt Chesse and Rick Pearson, and 2nd Unit Director Dan Bradley.
Mathieu Amalric, one of France's leading screen stars, is best known for his roles as Jean-Dominique Bauby in Julian Schnabel's award-winning film, The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, and as the French information broker, Louis, in Steven Spielberg's Munich. Last year, he was awarded Best Actor at France's Cesar Awards for his role in the internationally acclaimed comedy Kings and Queen, directed by Arnaud Desplechin. Previously, Amalric won the Cesar for Most Promising Actor for his role in Desplechin's My Sex Life.
Amalric began his career as an actor in 1984, appearing in Otar Losseliani's Les favoris de la lune, and went on to serve as an assistant director to Louis Malle on Au Revoir Les Enfants. As an actor, he has since worked with many leading directors including Andre Techine, Olivier Assayas, Jean-Claude Biette and the Larrieu Brothers. Olga Kurylenko recently co-starred opposite Timothy Olyphant in Hitman and opposite Elijah Wood in Paris, je t'aime. She also appeared in starring roles in Eric Barbier's thriller The Serpent and Diane Bertrand's The Ring Finger, for which she received the Best Actress award at The Brooklyn International Film Festival in 2006. She recently had a role in Tyranny, directed by John Beck Hofman.
On French television, multi-lingual Kurylenko appeared in the mini-series "Suspectes" and the drama "The Good Luck Charm."
In her career as a top European model, Kurylenko has appeared in numerous advertising campaigns, including Kenzo, Helena Rubenstein and Just Cavalli. Her magazine covers include US Glamour, French Elle, Madame Figaro and Marie Claire.
Gemma Arterton graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (RADA) and made her film debut with Dame Maggie Smith and David Walliams in Stephen Poliakoff's "Capturing Mary" for BBC Films. She currently stars in the hit British comedy St. Trinian's. Arterton recently made her professional stage debut as Rosalind in "Love's Labour's Lost" at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre.
EON Productions just announced at a Press Conference held at Pinewood Studios near London, that the title for the 22nd installment of the James Bond series will be

Furthermore, story details have emerged. As the BBC reports, “At a press conference at the facility, reporters were shown a minute of footage from the new film, including Bond swinging on a rope after an explosion at an art gallery in Siena, Italy. Another scene showed him meeting M - played by Dame Judi Dench - outside in the snow.”
Reuters reports, that Quantom of Solace sees James Bond out for revenge on a mission that takes him to Austria, Italy and South America.
According to the synopsis, Bond girl Camille, played by Ukrainian-born Olga Kurylenko, leads the secret agent to Dominic Greene, member of a mysterious organization and a ruthless businessman, seeking to control huge natural resources.
Greene is played by Mathieu Amalric, who starred in the Oscar-nominated The Diving Bell and Butterfly. The plot follows on directly from Casino Royale as Bond aims to uncover the truth about Vesper, the beauty who betrayed him, and discovers that she had been blackmailed. "James Bond is after revenge, and Camille is after revenge and they have slightly different goals, but in the end they are going to have to collaborate," Kurylenko told reporters.
On a tour of the main Bond set at Pinewood, journalists were shown 3 stages, all of them set in the Italian city of Siena. In the largest, two actors including Craig’s stunt double, swung from ropes and fought in an old art gallery.

Intressant. Quantum of Solace? Så den här filmen kommer med andra ord inte bara ta handligen från en eller två böcker, utan från flera korta historier? Nytt grepp, må jag säga.
Låter dock lovande, och bra att se att alla från förra filmen är med igen ( som inte är död förstås). Dock undrar jag... i vilken bok var det Q introducerades? Saknar den karaktären, han är ju närmast något av en institution. Måhända att han antingen introduceras här, eller kanske kommer i nästa film då?

Jag har inte läst Quantum of Solace så jag kan inte jämföra det med informationen om handlingen som hittills är känd. Skulle dock inte förvåna mig om dom bara lånar vissa delar och sedan bygger upp något eget.

it has not yet been announced whether the character will return in Quantum of Solace, however Quantum of Solace Screenwriter Paul Haggis confirmed that 'Q' is not included in the script. Casino Royale showcases a number of gadgets and sophisticated tools used by Bond, however the film does not indicate whether a Q Branch per se exists in the revised Bond universe.
The ancestry of the Q character is rather complicated. In the Fleming novels there are frequent references to Q and 'Q Branch' with phrases like "see Q for any equipment you need" (Casino Royale) and "Q Branch would handle all of that" (Diamonds are Forever), with a reference to "Q's craftsmen" in From Russia with Love. In the sixth novel, Dr. No, the service armourer Major Boothroyd appears for the first time. Fleming named the character after Geoffrey Boothroyd, a firearms expert who lived in Glasgow, Scotland. He had written to the novelist suggesting that Bond was not using the best firearms available. Boothroyd is also referenced occasionally in the Bond novels of John Gardner, but the author preferred instead to focus on a new character (see "Other Qs", below).

Verkar inte finnas någon orsak till att de utesluter Q. John Cleese gjorde ett bra jobb men de tyckte väl att han var för komisk. Men ändå, de verkar vilja ta ett så långt steg bort från gammla Bond som möjligt. Lite väl mycket tycker jag.
