Although my heart may be weak, it's not alone. It's grown with each new experience. And it's found a home with all the friends I've made. I've become a part of their heart, just as they've become a part of mine.
And if they think of me now and then, if they don't forget me, then our hearts will be one. I don't need a weapon. My friends are my power!

EDIT:

Lite mer uppdateringar kring projektet.

Pablo's write up on the Clone Wars panel:

The Clone Wars Panel Discussions
May 27th, 2007

The first two panel discussions with The Clone Wars producer Catherine Winder and supervising director Dave Filoni have finished, and here's a brief listing of what fans just witnessed:

First, an introduction to Winder and Filoni, with a great video short showing director Filoni wearing his scratch-built Plo Koon costume to the premiere of Episode III (before getting hired on at Lucasfilm).

Interview details:

* When Filoni initially got the call from Winder to direct The Clone Wars, he thought it was a joke staged by his friends. Winder assured him it was not, and proved it by letting him call her back on her Lucasfilm line.

* Filoni got the job moments after his initial interview with Lucas. As a fan, he was just glad to meet Lucas and visit Skywalker Ranch just before the opening of Episode III.

* Lucas is very involved with production - he is mostly focused on the story. He and Winder both work on the scripts with the writers.

* The episodes will be 22 minutes long, so as a result, there is opportunity for a lot of character development. The tone of the series is based on that of Episode IV - in addition to action, there are also light moments and comedy.

* In the new series, there will not be a “Justice League of Jedi” as Filoni puts it - the Jedi can't do anything more than Luke, Mace, Qui-Gon, and Obi-Wan from the films. They can be vulnerable but are intelligent - they need to think themselves out of situations. It will show how war was a challenge for the Jedi to fight, and how the moral principles they clung to began to disintegrate.

* According to Winder, it's not being directed as an animated series, but more like live action in terms of its story and cinematography.

Filoni then walks the audience through a series of slides which showcase some of the sculpture designs for characters such as the clone trooper, Anakin, Obi-Wan, Count Dooku, and General Grievous. They will share some of the stylization from the 2-D animated series but also some of the reality from the filmed saga. Filoni describes the style as “leaner and more elegant.”

A video is shown which introduces much of the team at Lucasfilm Animation housed at Skywalker Ranch.

Q&A questions revealed:

* Lucasfilm Animation had nothing to do with some 3-D animated stills recently “leaked” on the internet. They were fan-produced.

* While continuity is being taken very seriously by the creators of the series, Lucas retains the right to make slight adjustments for the sake of the story. Filoni is extremely well-versed in Star Wars mythology and Expanded Universe, so rest assured it is in very good hands.

* General Grievous will have a cough. When asked whether any of Grievous' past will be revealed, the only response is, “You'll be happy.” Filoni also says that when it comes to big legacy characters like Grievous, Lucas is consulted directly.

* The series will debut in Fall 2008.

* A lot of background characters - from the films and otherwise - will get to do a lot more.

* The series is being produced in high-definition.

TheForce.Net - Animated Clone Wars Theatrical Release?

Posted on November 15, 2007

Then again, nothing has been decided, though clearly, everybody that heard such a thing may happen got very excitied about it.

Before you read the information below, I'll tell you the news was big enough I knew we had to ask for confirmation from Lucasfilm before posting it. It's a good thing because LFL did have something to say about it. I realize you'll read this out of order, but I want to make sure nobody gets the wrong information.

When I asked Lucasfilm to comment on this news, here's what a Lucasfilm spokesman had to say:

"I'd like to clarify Hasbro comments this AM about the Clone Wars TV series. We see it as a breakthrough animated television series and are exploring a number of innovative ways to introduce it to the public. No decisions regarding release strategy have been made yet."

I followed up with just one question. Is a theatrical release introducing the series in the works and received this response: "It's one of the many things being discussed but we have no decisions yet. For us it's all about finding a creative way to launch a creative TV series."

Below is the specific information about this from the Hasbro Analysts meeting this morning. At the time I asked for comments from Lucasfilm, the meeting was still going on and Hasbro was expected to clarify their comments before the end of the meeting.

Note, that I'll emphasize again, there has been no Lucasfilm decision regarding this and there certainly has been no date set for anything.

During the Hasbro Fall 2007 Analyst Event this morning, they announced the much-anticipated "Star Wars" Clone Wars animated TV series would have a theatrical launch next year on August 8 and then on TV throughout the fall.

You can listen to it yourself at this link. You have to register to listen. The audio you want to hear is about 56 minutes into the presentation. Hasbro Fall 2007 Analyst Event Audio.

Monday, February 4th 2008

The upcoming CG animated "Star Wars" spin-off series "Clone Wars" will make its debut in the UK this September as three 90-minute episodes that will be released theatrically reports Action-Figure.Com.

Several Star Wars licensees other than Hasbro confirmed the news at this weekend's UK ToyFair where Hasbro ruled the new action figure line from the Lucasfilm property off limits to press.

The rest of the episodes will then come out on a yet undecided TV channel.

Finally STAR WARS: no doubt, it has still the Force. The new action figures
and Lego looked fantastic. And for us Europeans it was great to got the
confirmation that CLONE WARS ANIMATED movie – the first three parts of the
new tv-series - will indeed be shown in our theatres in September as well –
so not only in England. That will give a huge boost to all the toys that
will be released this year, guaranteeing the future of that (or any other)
brand or franchise.

Empire Online har lite info om The Clone Wars.

Empire Online - Exclusive: George Lucas Talks Clone Wars Plus the live-action show

14 March 2008

George Lucas was in Las Vegas this week, not for the loose women and fibreglass recreations of famous landmarks, but to bang the drum for Star Wars: The Clone Wars, the upcoming animated film and TV series.

He showed a five-minute clip of a battle sequence from the film, which exhibited the retro-futuristic look that the new project will be going for and then we had a quick chat with him about what's in store for the film.

Lucas described the film, which takes place between episodes two and three of the series, as "a stylised cartoon, it's not photo real...it's in a Gerry Anderson style, Thunderbirds. The characters have painted surfaces - they look like they've been painted." He also told us that it will feature all the major characters from the films. "It's got everyone," he said. "Yoda, The Emperor... everybody that's in the features is in the animated series. It's just as if we took the feature and just continued it in an animation style."

However, the original cast from the movies won't be lending their vocal talents here. "No, [we won't be using the main cast members]," he explained. "Animation has its own demands, especially as we're also doing a TV series – and this started out as a TV series."

Click Me, Or Me.

The theatrical release of Star Wars: The Clone Wars tells an all-new story that leads directly in to this fall's premiere of a weekly, animated Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series on Cartoon Network, followed by airings on TNT.
