Moget att provocera ett äkta POTC-fan. Just det; du är inget. Du gillar antagligen kärleksfilmer. Se på Titanic eller Bridget Jones Dagbok, och lämna oss pirat-fantaster ifred! Johnny Depp=Pirates of the Caribbean. Ingen Johnny Depp, och bara Orlando och Keira=Såpa (med en möjlig titel som "Jag älskar dig vart tionde år").

Vem förde Will och Elizabeth samman? JACK!!! Förstår du? Will och Elizabeth är en gödselhög utan Jack.

Kolla runt lite på forumet och se efter vad han gillar. För senast jag såg t.ex. Resident Evil-triologin eller Silent hill, så var de ganska långt ifrån kategorin kärleksfilmer.

Detta kan komma som en ganska stor chock för dig, Kurvos, men smaken är som baken.

Captain Jack Officially Returns, and Signs On for Tonto Too! - Cinematical

With the success of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, it was pretty much inevitable that more would come our way. But it wasn't all signed, dotted, and crossed until now. Variety reports that Johnny Depp has finally signed on for a fourth film. I can only hope that this time around, he gets the passion and the girl. Spoiler TV - Knightley Unsure About Return to Pirates 4

We all know that Johnny Depp has signed on to reprise Captain Jack Sparrow in yet another Pirates of the Caribbean film. Now there’s word, via MTV, that Keira Knightley is balking at the prospect of stepping back into Elizabeth Swann’s corsets or the film.

Why do I keep hearing Jerry Seinfeld whining: “I don’t wanna be a pirate!”

Is it true that Knightley is sick of the character, her flowing blouses and tight corsets? Or is there enough money in Disney’s coffers to make the actress willing to return?

When last we left Elizabeth Swann she was patiently waiting for her yearly visits with Will Turner, the new Captain of the Flying Dutchman. The pair has a nine year old son at the end of the film. Is there a story line to accommodate this happy family that would work in a new Pirates movie?

I would assume there’s enough money left to throw at Knightley to lure her back. The word is Disney offered Depp a nice chunk of treasure from Disney’s locker to lure him back to playing Sparrow.

Knightly sade väl redan när det börjades talas om en 4a att hon inte var intresserad? Sedan håller jag med SoD (var det va?) att Elizabeth/Will storyn känns ganska avslutad. Ser gärna att man gör något nytt med 4an.

Kommer faktiskt inte ihåg hur det var med den saken, kan mycket väl stämma att hon redan sagt det och att detta är "old news". Ska bli intressant att se vad dom hittar på. Tycker att första filmen är okej men sedan blev det snabbt sämre, men en film som centrerar på Jack Sparrow skulle nog även kunna tilltala mig.

Depp Scoops Biggest Ever Up-front Payout For Pirates 4

Hollywood star Johnny Depp will reportedly pocket a staggering $59.2 million (GBP32 million) pay cheque for reprising his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in a fourth installment of the Pirates Of The Caribbean franchise.

The big-money deal will make Hollywood history as the highest up-front payment ever - overshadowing the $53.65 million (GBP29 million) Tom Hanks was offered to star in the forthcoming The Da Vinci Code sequel, Angels + Demons.

But a movie insider insists Disney Studio bosses - who are behind the hugely successful franchise - would pay anything to keep Depp on their books.

The source tells Britain's Daily Mail newspaper, "There's only one Johnny Depp. They simply cannot make another Pirates movie without Jack Sparrow.

"The first three films have earned $2.7 billion (GBP1.46 billion) at the box office. It's no surprise that Disney executives want Jack back and they are willing to pay big bucks to get him."

Gore Verbinski has been the only director the “Pirates of the Caribbean” films have ever known, but what if he doesn’t return for a fourth “Pirates” movie with the film’s gazillion dollar leading man Johnny Depp? Perish the thought! Then again, would the millions who flock to the theaters to see Depp do his Jack Sparrow thing really notice if some guy name “Gore Verbinski” isn’t listed as the director? Or would they even notice if Tim Burton’s name is there instead? Um, probably not. There is a reason why the average actor gets paid an obscene amount of money more than the average director or writer — because people go to the movies to see them. Think about all those Steven Seagal or Jean-Claude Van Damme movies you were all excited to see back in the ’80s and ’90s; know who directed any of those movies? Told ya.

So there’s a rumor floating around the net that Disney has Tim Burton lined up as a possible replacement for Verbsinki should the director not return. You can read the original source over at Cinema Blend, but I would take it with as much grain of salt as you can muster. Meanwhile, these other casting rumors, also from CB, seems a little easier to swallow:

Most excitingly, there are talks of Captain Jack having a brother in the next movie, possibly to be played by Sacha Baron Cohen (perfect!) or Russell Brand (even more perfect!) Of course, that’s probably just fantasy casting, but why would either of those comedians turn the role down? As we’ve mentioned before, the new movie might kick off a trilogy, which would revolve around Captain Jack’s search for the Fountain of Youth.

So, Tim Burton to direct Pirates 4? I wouldn’t count on it. In fact, I would probably just ignore it and go on to the Captain Jack having a brother part. That seems more likely. Cohen would be great in the role, but Brand would be annoying and make me want to blow my brains out.

Gore Verbinski har beslutat sig för att inte regissera den fjärde filmen utan koncentrerar sig hellre på att göra andra projekt istället, bland annat "Bioshock". [Variety]

Tiden får väl utvisa om det är ett bra drag eller inte. Lite skeptisk blir man väl när man någon lämnar skutan och dom andra får se sig om efter en ny regissör.

Pirates of the Caribbean 4 Update
Earlier this week, it was revealed that Walt Disney Pictures had already selected a director for the upcoming "The Lone Ranger" film, which stars Johnny Depp as Tonto. And that the move would push the fourth "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie back.

Now, ComingSoon caught up with producer Jerry Bruckheimer to get the status of both projects. It turns out that both "Pirates" and "Ranger" are in development, but priority is definitely on "Pirates."

"It's a great franchise for them and for us, too," he said. "We love the character and Johnny was really excited about coming back to Captain Jack. He certainly is interested in Tonto, but Disney's priority is to get 'Pirates' made first."

Bruckheimer added that Terry Rossio and Ted Elliot are "writing 'Pirates' as we speak," and that there is still a chance for director Gore Verbinski to return to the franchise.

Regarding "The Lone Ranger"... There is still no director on board and Disney will wait until they sign on before starting to look for the lead.

July 31, 2009 - Chicago director Rob Marshall is about to walk the plank and jump into Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, according to a new report.

Variety says that Marshall is "on the verge" of becoming the helmer of the fourth film in the series, meaning that the highly-anticipated flick is suddenly back on track for a 2010 production start. Previously, the departure of the first three films' director Gore Verbinski back in April had left the future of the franchise flopping around in the surf.

Johnny Depp will of course be back as Captain Jack Sparrow, though previous reports have indicated that Disney's desire to keep costs down may mean that the return of Depp's costars Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley is unlikely.

"Producer Jerry Bruckheimer and Disney have been meeting with a number of directors in recent weeks, because the studio wants to pull the Pirates film together and have Depp star in it before he does The Lone Ranger for the producer and the studio," says the trade paper. "While Marshall's involvement wasn't immediately confirmed, sources said things look good enough that the studio has begun casting new characters that will appear in the picture."

Marshall's next film is the musical Nine, coming November 25.

Has On Stranger Tides suddenly run aground?

September 19, 2009 - Johnny Depp has long seemed like a team player when it came to the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, even appearing in costume as Captain Jack Sparrow at the recent D23 Expo where Disney announced that the fourth installment, slated for a 2011 release, would be titled Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. Depp had been a cheerleader for the project over the last few years, but all that appears to have changed in all of a day, with the star now publicly saying that his eagerness to do the project has taken a hit. So what happened?

Depp blames it on the sudden and unexpected departure of Dick Cook, the longtime chairman of The Walt Disney Studios, from his post Friday. Some media outlets, such as Deadline Hollywood Daily, claim that Cook was fired, although Cook's official statement yesterday merely said that he'd "been contemplating this for some time now and feel it's the right time for me to move on to new adventures."

In an interview yesterday with The Los Angeles Times, Depp said he was "shocked and very sad" about Cook's abrupt exit from the studio and credited him for standing by him when other Disney execs balked at his offbeat portrayal of Jack Sparrow during the making of the first Pirates movie. He also spoke of his close personal friendship with Cook, deeming him "the sweetest man on the planet and such a gent."

The Times reports that "Depp said while he has a potential deal in place [for Pirates 4] that will depend on how good the script is, his passion for the project at the moment has been severely dampened by the news that Cook will no longer be around."

"There's a fissure, a crack in my enthusiasm at the moment," the Oscar-nominated actor told the paper. "It was all born in (Cook's) office."

This obviously doesn't mean that Depp's done with Pirates, but at the moment it sure looks like it's going to take something substantial now -- not the least of which is a good script -- to buoy his spirits.

At a DGA screening of Nine, Rob Marshall confirmed that he would be helming the Disney sequel. When asked what he would be doing next, Marshall responded;

“Ya’know, it’s something that I was offered and never in the world thought I would do but then I was like ‘why not?’… I’m doing ‘Pirates of the Caribbean….”

According to the AICN report, Marshall also mentioned that he had met with Johnny Depp, and that they are both excited to work together.

Alla har väl redan läst nyheten att varken Bloom eller Knightley är med i kommande PotC? Bra tycker jag, nu kanske det kan bli nåt av det hela. För min del har behållningen med filmerna varit Johnny Depp. Han kommer iaf vara med för som han sa i en intervju så tyckte han manuset var intressant med lite nya vinklar. Penelope Cruz är ny plus senast läste jag att Ian MacShane kan tänkas spela skurken Blackbeard. Inte hört någonstans om Geoffrey Rush återvänder, mer än att det sades så i höstas. Men mycket kan ju hända under tiden.

Som Georgia skrev så står Rob Marshall för regin, Terry Rossio och Ted Elliot har återigen skrivit manus och producerar gör den gamle räven Jerry Bruckheimer.

Fast det blir lite konstigt också. Ett stort tema var väl Wills resa under filmerna, från en vanlig kille till den hjälte han blev osv. Mycket vanligt bland sagorna. Men att Jack Sparrow blev mer populär, betyder det att han ensam kan bära en historia? Det är lite som om de skulle göra uppföljare till Star Wars som hade Han Solo som huvudkaraktär eller att de i X-Men-filmerna mer och mer fokuserade på Wolverine, även om hans historia knappast borde vara den bärande.

Rätt skönt faktiskt, alla verkar ju vilja göra 3D filmer just nu.

Tyvärr, Georgia, han fick inte bestämma. Filmen blir i 3D meddelar Disney och tekniken blir deras egna Disney Digital 3D. Nu vaknade faktiskt mitt intresse för filmen. Jag är så less på alla filmer som konverteras till 3D och har längtat efter en ny Avatar so to speak.Yay!
