Moviehole has received good word that The Grudge 2, December Boys and Wolf Creek star Teresa Palmer has landed the role of Wonder Woman in George Miller's anticipated Justice League adaptation at Warner Bros. According to the site, Palmer just nudged out competition Minka Kelly and Mary Elizabeth Winstead.

Obsessed With Film reports that Marit Allen (Hulk, Brokeback Mountain) has been signed as costume designer for Warner Bros.' Justice League.

The site says Weta Digital, Animal Logic and other effects houses are still bidding to do work on the film, but the principal effects company on the film is Sony Pictures Imageworks with company president Ken Ralston (The Polar Express, Cast Away) serving as visual effects supervisor.

The studio has still not made any official announcements about the cast of George Miller's adaptation.

UPDATE: Both Variety and The Hollywood Reporter have confirmed that Warner Bros. Pictures let the options lapse on Tuesday for the cast members, which included D.J. Cotrona, Adam Brody, Anton Yelchin, Common, Teresa Palmer and Megan Gale. The studio cited script issues as the one of the causes and the other is that the project needed tax breaks from shooting in Australia.

According to IESB, this report was indeed accurate. It looks like Warner Bros. Pictures made the decision yesterday to put George Miller's Justice League on hold until the production can do a script rewrite after the writers strike ends. Reports had said the cast was on location and the crew was ready to go if they had been given the green light.

The site says that the production will have to wait until at least June, but if the writers strike (and possible Screen Actors Guild strike) continue for a long time, it could be much later.

Warner Bros. Pictures had yet to officially confirm any cast members for the superhero team-up movie that is expected to include Batman, Superman, The Flash, Aquaman, Wonder Woman and the Green Lantern.

Det ska bli intressant om det verkligen blir av nu eller om projektet kommer stöta på fler problem framöver. Tycker det känns som att en hel del hänger i luften.

Men jag är väldigt tveksam till valet av skådespelarna, speciellt Batman.

Sorry Cartman, vanligt internet-blindhet från min sida . Är själv också tveksam till skådespelarna, Megan Gale verkar i allafall väl castad men slutar typ där...får se vad som händer med projektet.Skulle ha föredragit att den fokuserade på GL, Wonder Woman, Flash och Martian Manhunter och sen haft cameo/bi-roller med Routh som Superman och Bale som Batman.

Ingen fara, inte lätt att se allt här i världen.

Jag tycker det är syn att dom inte kan få med Routh och Bale på ett hörn nu när man vant sig vid dom i sina respektive karaktärer. Utöver det känns det som att dom hittills har haft för bråttom fram med det mesta. Men jag hoppas på det bästa, det skulle vara minst sagt trevligt med en JLA film.

Joel Silver Confirms that Justice League is No More

Joel Silver has confirmed to CHUD at the Speed Racer Junket that Warner Bros big screen adaptation of Justice League has been “tabled”. Before you get too excited, this doesn’t mean the film is officially canceled, but I’m pretty sure that:

A. It won’t be happening anytime soon.
B. If and when it does happen it will have a new cast, and maybe possibly a new script and director.

I don’t think fans were opposed to seeing the Justice League of America up on the big screen. I think everyone was turned off by the direction it was heading as evidenced by the leaked storyline and signed but never announced cast members.

Nåja, jätteledsen är jag inte även fast det hade varit helt klart intressant. Man får hoppas på att fler JLA medlemmar än Superman och Batman får egna filmer i framtiden istället. Flash och Wonder Woman har det ju funnits planer på tidigare. Och personligen hoppas jag på en Green Lantern film nångång i en nära framtid

Anonymous source says 'Justice League' is dead

More bad news for the 'Justice League' movie. After producer Joel Silver, at last weekend's New York City Comic Con suggested the project had been "tabled", a new report arrives to drive another nail in the coffin.

Superman Homepage has heard from a "trusted insider who was working on the movie" that the film is "dead". Apparently lots of pink slips have been handed out and folks doing pre-production work sent packing.

There's still no official, on-record corroboration to the story, but if there's been a mass layoff as described, a clear announcement should be on the way. For now, we're pegging this as a rumor, however likely it may be.

Gale still onboard Justice League

Last week the Internet went into overdrive suggesting that “Justice League” is doomed. And whilst I too personally believe it is as done as a charcoaled parakeet, Megan Gale doesn’t.

The actress, attached to play Wonder Woman in the film, tells The Herald Sun that, contrary to rumours, she hasn’t been let go from the film. In fact, she just returned from Los Angeles where she met with the WB execs about the movie.

“The meetings with Warner Brothers went great”, the supermodel tells the paper’s Confidential column.

Gale’s reps also claim they’ve heard nothing about the film being put-off. Still, I think it’s pretty obvious that it won’t be happening anytime soon - they're probably just keeping a few of the actors attached "just in case".

Jag har sett hur Gale ser ut sen hon tränat upp sig för rollen. Vore ett förfärligt slöseri om man inte fick se henne som Wonder Woman. Kanske hon kan få spela henne i en solo-film istället?

Superhero Hype! brother site ShockTillYouDrop.com visited the Vancouver set of Megan Fox horror pic Jennifer's Body and got some quotes from Adam Brody about the Justice League movie.

"I probably shouldn't be commenting on this, but who cares?" he said when asked about what happened to the Warner Bros. project that has George Miller attached to direct. " I don't totally know, I know there was a tax credit thing and I know that the initial writers strike was a hindrance. I know they've got Batman coming out and Singer wants another Superman - this is only speculation on my part, no inside knowledge on this - but as a fan I can understand how there's controversy whether to try and build those, or building the franchise together. I think between the tax credit and I think... I think maybe it'll still happen. I truly don't know any more than you guys do.

"I know Ryan Reynolds was attached to the Flash for a while, then I got the part and I read on the internet 'Oh, he's no Ryan Reynolds, Ryan Renolds is the only Flash!' If I don't do it and hopefully in a year or two it'll be someone else and they'll get sh*t for not being me and I was the only person who could have ever conceivably been the Flash, it was so obvious."

Shock also asked him what superhero he would like to play if he doesn't get the Flash. "I secretly... sh*t, I shouldn't say this stuff," Brody answered.

What about Ant-Man? "F**k Ant-Man, man," he laughed. "As a kid, as much as I liked the Flash, but the dream would always be to be Spider-Man. I always associated the most with Peter Parker. I could never be Batman obviously. I've always been jealous of Spider-Man."

Reminded that there's still a chance in case Tobey Maguire doesn't return, Brody said, "I kinda know, they're making a fourth one..."

Kanske är Justice League filmen inte helt död ändå?

Oavsett om det händer nu eller om flera år, så tror jag knappast att Warner Brothers tänker lägga ner planerna på att nånsin göra en film om Justice League överhuvudtaget. Rätt ironiskt ändå, att filmen hade undertiteln 'Mortal' och sedan har det rapporterats att filmen är död.

Jag tror ärligt talat inte att Brody skulle vara så tokig som Flash. Han verkar en smula hyperaktiv, åtminstone som Seth Cohen och han skulle nog kunna göra Wally Wests kaxiga attityd utan någon större svårighet. Jag undrar bara hur han skulle göra med rösten, eftersom han har en ganska distinkt röst. Skulle han vara tvungen att förvränga den när han bär de röda trikåerna, eller skulle ingen märka nåt eftersom hans alter ego inte är någon känd person?

'Justice League' still on WB agenda

Playthings.com has an interesting report from the NYC trade show, including a round up of DC Comics/Warner Bros. offerings. Most interesting is the fact that the studio is still, apparently, pushing the 'Justice League' movie!

Warner Bros. will soon begin promoting its tie-in products (toys from master partner Mattel as well as costumes from Rubies and high-end collectibles from NECA) for the newest Batman film, The Dark Knight, which debuts on the big screen next month. Another big focus going forward for the company will be on The Brave and the Bold, a new Batman series set to air on Cartoon Network in November, Kelly Gilmore, senior vice president of global toys and themed entertainment, tells Playthings. The stylized animated series, appropriate for preschoolers, will pair Batman with a different superhero each week. An entire toy line for the series will debut from Mattel in spring 2009.

Other upcoming properties and deals being discussed at the show include Where the Wild Things Are (October 2009)—for which McFarlane Toys and Sababa will produce both movie and literary-based products; Alexander Doll, Crocodile Creek and Mudpuppy signed on for literary products; and Funko and Fisher-Price for movie products—as well as the upcoming seventh Harry Potter film, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. The studio is now planning to break the film into two parts, one debuting in 2010 and the other in 2011, Gilmore says. The Hobbit will follow in 2011.

Long-term, live-action Robotech, Johnny Quest, World of Warcraft, He-Man and Justice League films are also on the agenda for licensing, as well as the CGI Thundercats and a third Batman film from Chris Nolan, Gilmore says.

Tror på filmen sen när de faktiskt filmar den. Justice League projektet är klassiskt WB tjafsande. Pengar kastas till höger och vänster och nyheter dyker upp men inget händer.
