Starter en tråd för enbart spoilers, eftersom att även om vi er i spoiler forumet vill medlemmer att den andra BSG tråd er utan spoilers för ( framtida spoilers utgår jag ifrån menas altså nåt som inte visats i USA heller.

'Battlestar Galactica' Expands Season Finale

The end of "Battlestar Galactica's" second season will come a little later than expected.
A half-hour later, to be exact. The Sci Fi Channel series will extend its season finale to 90 minutes -- although the network says that still won't be enough time to resolve the show's myriad plot threads.

The finale, scheduled for Friday, March 10, will revolve around a coming election pitting current President Laura Roslin (Mary McDonnell) and Gaius Baltar (James Callis), whom Roslin believes to be a Cylon collaborator (she's right, of course).


Complicating matters is the discovery by the Galactica crew of a planet that appears able to support human life, which forces the candidates to consider whether they should abandon their search for planet Earth. With sentiment swinging toward the Baltar camp, Roslin ponders drastic action.
Sci Fi is already teasing a cliffhanger ending, so chances are fans of the show won't see the full impact of the president's decision.

"Battlestar Galactica" has become one of Sci Fi's most popular series since its October 2004 premiere (following a 2003 miniseries). The show, which regularly draws 3 million or more viewers, has also gathered a fair share of critical praise.

Production on season three is scheduled to begin in the spring.

Galactica Direct-To-Video Movie Set To Launch at GeekMonthly.com

Despite declining ratings for Battlestar Galactica on SciFi Channel, nearly universal critical acclaim along with robust DVD sales have led Universal Home Video to consider greenlighting a Battlestar Galactica direct-to-video telefilm, which will presumably air on The SciFi Channel, after debuting on home video, sources tell Geek. If it goes forward, the two hour telefilm will shoot in March during the series hiatus and prior to the commencement of production on the series fourth season in June. While there is no story for the telefilm at present, plans are afoot to come up with a screenplay that doesn’t step on existing continuity for the series, but utilizes most of its existing sets. There is also speculation the telefilm will somehow tie into the mythology for the Galactica spin-off series, Caprica, which has not been officially greenlit by SciFi Channel.

The only potential obstacle is that the network (SciFi Channel) and studio (Universal) have not officially greenlit a fourth season of the series, which will presumably occur shortly after the remainder of the third season begins in its new timeslot on Sundays, beginning in late January. In the event, there is further ratings erosion, it is possible the series, and plans for the DTV project, will be scrapped entirely, although this seems unlikely. Whether the Galactica production team will avail themselves of the lack of network censorship restrictions remains to be decided although it seems likely that the format will prove liberating for the creative braintrust of the series led by Ronald Moore and David Eick, the series producers.

DTV appears to be the perfect niche for genre fare that has a dedicated and loyal fan base, but have not been huge mainstream successes. In addition to Warner Bros. recently adding a DTV division within its home video department for horror and genre films, which premiered with the Raw Feed title, Rest Stop, they recently began production on a Babylon 5 DTV movie which was sparred by the series tremendous success on home video. This may bode well for other dormant genre franchises such as Firefly, which despite anemic box-office results for its first feature fiilm, Serenity, and hefty unrecouped P&A expenditures, still sells briskly on DVD. There also continue to be uncomfirmed rumors that Fox Home Video would also like to revive its bestselling Buffy franchise for DTV as well, but for the moment Babylon 5 and, shortly, Galactica remain the earliest to come to fruition.

TV-feber: Battlestar Galactica får fjärde säsong

Battlestar Galactica är i USA inne på sin tredje säsong, men redan nu verkar det mer eller mindre vara klart för en fjärde omgång. Även om inget är officiellt bekräftat ännu, så tycks det inte råda några större tvivel om att det blir ytterligare en säsong av den populära Sci-fi-serien.

Desto sämre nyhet för fansen är ryktet att spinoff-serien Caprica, som ska utspela sig innan originalet, verkar dröja ytterligare ett tag. Enligt rykten så ska det vara högst osannolikt att serien får premiär under året.

Jag har inte känt mig speciellt orolig över att det inte skulle bli en fjärde säsong trots de dalande tittarsiffrorna den här säsongen. Vet inte varför egentligen... Jag lugnar mig dock åt att ropa hurra till SciFi säger till. Sen får man väl se om den där filmen blir av också...

Trist att Caprica dröjer också.

Ursch, på TV-Guide talk som jag just lyssnade på var dom inte alls lika optimistiska om en fjärde säsong. Får hoppas att det är TV-Feber som har rätt...

Sen går det rykten om Starbuck. (från Ask Ausiello) (STOR spoiler om det är sant,Edit: vilket jag inte tror att det är.)

Ausiello: My powers are apparently failing me, because all signs are pointing to Starbuck's imminent demise. In a radio interview with Portland's KUFO-FM last month, Katee all but confirmed that she's leaving the show later this season — although she stopped short of saying Starbuck dies. If you ask me, this whole thing carries with it the stench of a highly coordinated foiler. I mean, Ron Moore would be out of his frakkin' mind to deep-six Starbuck, right?

Utöver det har det har Katee även sagt att hon inte är med i dom tre sista avsnitten. Men jag är också väldigt skeptisk till att hon faktiskt skulle försvinna från serien. Det är troligtvis en foiler men lite orolig blir man ju...

Lyssnar som vanligt också på Tv Guide Talk och visst låter vad de säger lite oroade, men samtidigt så passar det ihop också om s3 är sista säsongen och serien ska avslutas så är det mycket möjligt att flera dör, inklusive Starbuck. Har väldigt svårt att se en säsong 4 utan henne också.

Och vad gör Tv-feber till en bra källa? De anger inte ens var de fått uppgifterna ifrån. Då litar jag mer på vad som sägs på andra sidan Atlanten.

TV-Feber är så klart ingen bra källa, speciellt när dom inte anger sin egen källa. Men jag försöker tänka positivt. Allt för många bra serier har lagts ner efter bara tre säsonger nu. Men som sagt blir det en fjärde säsong... tror jag knappast att Starbuck dör.

Blir det en fjärde säsong ser jag det som foilers, men som klart tänktbara händelser när serien väl ska avslutas.

Jag tror knappast Sci-Fi bestämt sig, serien flyttar ju nu till söndagar, jag tror de avvaktar och ser hur tittarsiffrorna går.

Det lär aldrig hända men BSG verkar väldigt intressant.

Jag är rätt säker på att det kommer hända någon gång - kanske inte nu eller för BSG, men själva idén kommer vi nog så småningom få se rätt mycket mer av. Det känns som ett naturligt nästa steg. Frågan är bara hur många år det tar - 1, 5, 10, 50?

Men jag hade gärna sett både Firefly och BSG-filmen få växa ut redan nu.

There’s also been a ton of speculation about a “Battlestar Galactica” DVD movie. Is there going to be one?

DE: “There’s been a great deal of interest within the company [NBC Universal] about how to expand the ‘Battlestar’ universe. One of the things we’re preparing right now is a 2-hour movie that will be an adjunct to the fourth season.”

RM: “It’s really a bonus episode. It’s not really official. [NBCU] home video is very interested, the DVDs of ‘Battlestar Galactica’ do very well. At this point we’re talking about what the story would be, how the logistics of it would work [in terms of when it would be shot].

“It’s a lot of vague talk right now because we don’t have an order for a fourth season. Until there is a fourth season, the DVD release won’t be something concrete either.”

So, if it goes forward, it would be a direct-to-DVD movie that would also air on Sci Fi?

RM: “That’s the general gist of what we’re talking about. If we do it, it would not be a conclusion to the season’s cliffhanger.”

Would it be something based on the Caprica concept that has been floating around?

RM: “No, it would take place in Galactica world that we’ve seen. We would not tie it directly to our season cliffhanger. We’re looking for a way to sync it up with the show, almost like, ‘Here’s a back story to something that we might do later.’”
