Ärligt talat är jag kluven. Jag tror BSG skulle må bättre om den hade 13 avsnitts säsonger. Säsong 3 är ett tydligt exempel på att RDM inte förmår att hålla uppe kvalitén i 20 avsnitt än mindre 22.

Jag gillar att se att Scifi fortfarande vill satsa på serien. Jag har inte sett säsong 3 (gudarna skall veta att jag vill åtgärda den saken ) och skall inte uttala mig om den säsongens kvalitet.

Allt beror ju på hur man ser på det. Om vi säger att en säsong på 13 avsnitt bara skulle ha bra avsnitt och en säsong på 20 har 4 dåliga avsnitt så har den ju ändå 3 mer bra avsnitt än den på 13 men jag tenderar att fokusera på det negativa och bara tycka att det är onödigt att sänka seriens kvalitet med dom fyra dåliga avsnitten.

Håller helt och hållet med, kvalitet i första hand - kan man inte hålla den någorlunda i mer än 10 avsnitt så skall det inte vara mer än 10 avsnitt.

Det här få mig att undra - när man annonserade ut att man satsar på en 4e säsong och att man beställt minst 13 avsnitt så kändes det som om man väntade på något. Att man nu väljer att gå upp på 22 nu - känns på något vis som om vad man än väntat på har kommit i dagen. Iofs, hade man satsat på 13 avsnitt istället för 22 hade man kunnat koncentrera sig mig på själva storyn och inte behöva fylla ut det som i kallas "full season".

Nej det kan vara lurigt ibland. Men filmen kommer iaf att handla om Cylonattacken i början av serien sett ur Battlestar Pegasus perspektiv. Mao så kommer Michelle Forbes tillbaka som Admiral Cain. Låtersom en bra idé tycker jag. Sen ska händelserna i filmen även knyta an till s4 på nåt sät...

Ahh.

Jag håller med dig om vad du säger. Det är ett ganska smart sätt att göra en film (tycker jag) som kan passa både dem som sett serien och den som inte sett den. För den ene kompletterar den serien och för den andra kan det vara startskottet. Gillar idén hur som helst. Det skall bli intressant dessutom och se hur pass allvarliga övergreppen som Cain genomförde på överlevande skepp för att tillgodose Pegaus egna behov. (Ingen stor spoiler, ligger omk 02x10 - 02x12)

Jag tror Sci Fi channel ville ha nåt med potential att locka nya tittare och det kommer säkert att funka rätt bra med den här approachen. Och samtidigt är det ju också som du säger, också intressant för oss fans att se. Gina lär väl också komma tillbaka då...

Mest nyfiken är jag dock på om filmen kommer att ingå i s4 boxen iom att den också kommer att släppas separat på DVD dagen efter det har sänts på Sci fi.

‘Battlestar' DVDs Get An Extra Episode

Season 3 has only just finished its run on the SciFi Channel, but that hasn’t stopped the “Battlestar Galactica” machine from pushing forward with the DVD release … even without a release date.

According to Buddy TV, the third collection for the series will not only include all the usual goodies, but will also feature an expanded version of "The Resistance" Webisodes that led up to the third season’s premiere.

The Webisodes, which were available for download from the SciFi Channel Web site, featured the formation of the New Caprican insurgency. Although some of the original cast of the series were featured in the series , each Webisode focused on new characters to the series .

Once extended, the Webisodes will form a complete episode, preliminary titled “Episode Zero” which will no doubt be featured on the first disc for the box set. The DVDs also include episodic deleted scenes, audio commentaries from the cast and crew and documentaries.

No release date has been set for the DVDs, but composer Bear McCreary said on his blog that the third season DVD set was expected to be released in August, around the same time as the Season 3 soundtrack.

Region 2 boxarna brukar väl inte ha så hävligt med extra matreal, men med tanke på att Webisoderna "i stort sett" var exklusivt för de amerikanska tittarna så hoppas jag att Episode Zero kommer att finnas med på R2-boxen.

Inte direkt oväntat att det skulle komma en längre ihopklippt version av webisoderna. Och det vore väldigt konstigt om den inte fanns med i R2 utgåvan. Den förlängda versionen av Pegasus fanns ju med i förra säsongsboxen.

The IESB attended the 33rd Annual Saturn Awards today in Universal City and spoke with both Edward James Olmos and Katee “Starbuck” Sackhoff of Battlestar Galactica fame.

ImageWhen asked about the next season of Battlestar, Olmos had this to say, “This will probably be the most extraordinary season of Battlestar, it’s the final season so, it’s definitely going to be the most vicious.”

IESB: Final?

Olmos: You heard it first.

IESB: Are you serious?

Olmos: Very much so.

IESB: I want to go cry, I know they were talking about the Caprica spinoff, is there a possibility of that then?

Olmos: That’s up to them, I have no idea, but as far as we know, in respects of the way we have this show constructed, this is the final season.

IESB: Wow.

Olmos: So enjoy it while it’s here.

Say it ain’t so Katee! A bit later, we caught Katee Sackhoff on the red carpet and asked for a comment.

IESB: Eddie just gave me some earth shattering news.

Katee: Hmmm.

IESB: It made me want to go inside and cry.

Katee: Did you hear that Battlestar might not go anymore?

IESB: What the fuck is wrong, what’s going on?!

Katee: Yeah, this might be, this may be our last year. If Eddie is saying it, I guess I can repeat it.

IESB: I was like, what’s wrong with these people?

Katee: I think part of the problem is that it’s an expensive show.

IESB: But it’s a great show.

Katee: It is, but we don’t have the viewership that a great show should get.

IESB: They should put it on NBC.

Katee: They should, but then how would I do the Bionic Woman at the same network, to be jumping back and forth, we have to keep it a little separate right now.

Låter faktiskt som en bra idé tycker jag. Man ska sluta i tid medan det fortfarande är riktigt bra.

Sen får man väl hoppas att Caprica blir av också.

Kanske därför som man vill runda av BSG? för att få tid och pengar och satsa på Caprica...

Men visst håller jag med dig. Det spelar ingen roll hur bra en serie är, det är bättre med ett taget beslut än att serien fasas ut för att den spelat ut sin roll.

Sackhoff's character originally was slated to be offed in the pilot, but executives liked her so much that she is now going to be pulling double duty between both shows which are filmed in Vancouver and produced by NBCU.

"In theory she can do both because it's the same company," Bromstad said. "There are just [Actors Guild] rules you have to be able to agree on involving the number of guest star episodes. It's still being figured out how much she would reoccur and what role she will play. We'll work with ourselves to make it work." (Källa)

More BSG After 4? O’Donnell Thinks It’s Possible - Slice of Scifi

Actress Mary McDonnell, the star who plays President Laura Roslin on the Peadbody Award winning show “Battlestar Galactica,” seems to be at odds with co-star Edward James Olmos (Admiral Adama on the series) on whether or not Season Four of the show will be its last.

McDonnell, who captured critical acclaim 17 years ago in the award winning Kevin Costner film “Dancing With Wolves,” said in a recent interview with MeeVee that she isn’t convinced that next season will be Galactica’s final one.

Recently Olmos did relay that when the new season for the show begins in January 2008 it will be the last full season for the popular SF series. Even Ron Moore, the series’ executive producer has hinted at it and some rumors coming out of NBC Universal’s SCI FI Channel appear to back Olmos’ public statements.

In the interview just this week, O’Donnell addressed these last season rumors and her co-star’s assertions by stating, “No, I don’t think so. But you know what? I have no idea, They always think this is the end for Battlestar, and I think the reason is that it’s a story that wants to be told completely. You don’t just want to stop somewhere.” “We’ve got to get to Earth,” O’Donnell surmised. “We’ve got to figure this thing out! So, though there might be a projection that this will be the last season, I have no proof that it is, so I would never say it.”

Either O’Donnell is out of the information loop, or Ed was speaking off the cuff and giving his opinion of the probabilities. Regardless, this is one story that is not yet closed until the SCI FI Channel makes an official announcement.

Battlestar Galactica to End After Season 4 - ComingSoon.net

SCI FI Channel's "Battlestar Galactica" will sign off next year after its fourth season, producers said Thursday. Variety says the series had to fight to get renewed for a fourth season.

Executive producers Ronald D. Moore and David Eick issued a joint statement saying it was their decision to end the series.

"This show was always meant to have a beginning, a middle and, finally, an end," the producers said. "Over the course of the last year, the story and the characters have been moving strongly toward that end, and we've decided to listen to those internal voices and conclude the show on our own terms."

The producers promised to end the show "with a bang."

"Battlestar" will begin its fourth season with a two-hour episode in November. It will then return in early 2008 to finish out its 22-episode run.

SCI FI Channel hasn't yet said if it plans to move forward with a proposed "Battlestar" prequel series.
