"Long time, Master Wayne" som Alfred säger i trailern är ju en nod till det att det inte gjorts Batman filmer på bra länge, en kul nod också.

Gary Oldman som James Gordon är också något som jag är väldigt nyfiken på.

Just got home from Wondercon in San Francisco. Maybe you can use this, let me know. Christian Bale was there, along with 6 minutes of completed footage from Batman Begins. The highlights:

-Bruce urging his parents to leave the opera house early, thus meaning he blames himself for the unknown mugger waiting outside to shoot them.

- Bruce meeting with mob boss Carmine Falcone, who tells Bruce that he is "the prince of Gotham. " and that he'd have to go a thousand miles to find someone who didn't know his name..and so that's what Bruce does.

- Ra' Al Ghul saying Gotham must be destroyed. And then shots of Wayne Manor on fire.

-the final, and BEST footage- The Scarecrow and Batman face to face in a dark hallway. The Scarecrow sprays some liquid on Batman, and then holds up a lighter ( the Superbowl shot) before lighting Batman on fire and then kicking him out the window to a huge fall before. The best is when the Scarecrow asks in a concerned/creepy voice "Oh, are you having trouble?" Amazing stuff.

Christian Bale, star of Batman Begins, shocked and delighted audiences at WonderCon today with a guest appearance at the Warner Bros. panel, in which he revealed that his is committed to a total of three Batman movies.

In what was touted as his “one and only convention appearance to promote Batman Begins”, Bale wowed the audience with his passion, knowledge, and understanding of what he called an “American Myth”.

He called wearing the Bat-suit a “hell of an honor” and said that, while it was uncomfortably hot and the cowl was tight enough to give him constant headaches, he was able to “use that” to get the right amount of rage to be Batman.

He believes the script for Batman Begins is faithful to the work of creators like Frank Miller, Jeph Loeb, and Alex Ross and sees this movie not as a prequel or a sequel to the other Batman movies, but a “reinvention of the lore”.

Questioned about the highlights of playing Batman, Bale immediately mentioned the Batmobile.

Bale's take on Batman was that he would be a very dangerous, scary, monstrous individual when he wore the suit. No humor would come from Batman himself, although it might come from Alfred or other characters in the film. One fan asked Bale if he thought of Bruce Wayne and Batman as one person or two separate characters. Bale replied that he thought Batman was the real persona of Bruce Wayne, while the Wayne character was a mask that just allowed him to function in regular society. Many fans applauded Bale throughout the Q&A whenever it seemed that he really got the essential character of Batman.

At the end of the Q&A, they showed a new 6-minute clip of scenes from Batman Begins. The first part was a scene of young Bruce Wayne, before his parents are murdered, running around the Wayne estate with his childhood friend Rachel. Straight from the Frank Miller story, Bruce falls down an old well and gets attacked by bats. Later, Bruce is at a stage play with his parents and sees images that reminds him of the flying rats, and asks to be taken home. When his parents leave the play, they are killed by Joe Chill. The second part of the trailer showed a young Wayne getting intimidated by Carmine Falcone (Tom Wilkinson). In seeking the ability to scare and intimidate such people, Wayne travels to Tibet, and asks Ra's Al Ghul (Ken Watanabe) help in training. In the film, Ducard (played by Liam Neeson) works for Al Ghul and trains Wayne in martial arts. The third part of the trailer shows Wayne, now dressed as Batman,
confronting the Scarecrow. The Scarecrow douses Batman with a liquid spray and sets him on fire. Batman leaps out of a tall building in an effort to extinquish the flames. There were other action scenes, and a threatening Ra's Al Ghul orders his "League" (somewhat like the old League of Assassins) to burn Gotham to the ground.

Ricci Wants a Batman Begins Sequel Role

'King' wrote in with a bit from a Christina Ricci interview in which she talks about a sequel to Batman Begins:

In an interview with the Central Westchester newspaper, for "Cursed", Christina Ricci says - following a long plug for her guest appearance on "Joey" and how it was a dream come true, blah, blah - that she would love to be involved in, the next BATMAN film.

"I heard they want to bring Catwoman into the next one. I so loved Michelle Pfeiffer's performance in the original one, and I think if they want someone to play the lead role - it's her. However, if they're looking for a younger Catwoman, someone more around Christian's (Bale) age - I'm available!", she gushes. "It would be great. That suit, the whip....wow. I will definitely have to get my agent onto that one".

Ricci later slammed reports that there's going to be a sequel to "Cursed".

"It's a one-off. Wes never intended to do a series of Cursed movies like he did the Scream movies".

Christina Ricci som Catwoman???!!!! Wow, det vore nästan FÖR bra. Då kommer den här grodan sitta limmad framför bioduken. *dregel, dregel*

Det tror jag hadde varit kanon! Ricci är ju i mitt tycke precis som Pfeiffer en skådespelerska som kan höja en film rejält om hon tillåts spela ut ordentligt, som Pfeiffer fick göra emellanåt i Batman Returns. Så Christina Ricci hadde nog varit super i rollen som Catwoman skulle jag tro.

Batman Begins (June 17)

•What's popping? Director Christopher Nolan (Memento) wipes the Bat slate clean and explores the origins of the Caped Crusader with Christian Bale (American Psycho) inside the Bat-suit.

A young Bruce Wayne witnesses the murder of his parents and seeks retribution. He goes to the Far East and learns martial arts from mentor Henri Ducard (Liam Neeson). Upon his return, the heir to the Wayne estate finds that Gotham City is overrun by crime. With an assist from loyal butler Alfred (Michael Caine), he assumes an alter ego and exacts justice from his foes.

•A few more kernels. Banished are Bat nipples, hammy villains and a comic-book hero adrift in his own adventures. Nolan ignores the four predecessors that began with 1989's Batman to expose his avenger's dark roots. "To tackle an icon who has never been explained before is a tremendous opportunity," says the British director, who watched the campy '60s TV series as a kid. "It's a mythic story that draws upon Hamlet and The Count of MonteCristo."

How does Nolan hope to compete with the state-of-the-art feats in the Spider-Man films? "The strength of Batman is his reality," he explains. "He's a guy without superpowers. Bruce Wayne uses detection, psychology and martial arts. Any one of us can be him."

OK,,,nu har jag hört att det här inte alls är Batman Begins themet...något helt annat. Tja, bra stycke musik var det i allafall. En låt som heter "Judgement Day" av Immediete Music, musiker som gör musik till filmtrailers. Men visst fan låter det som Batman, och känns lite Elfman influerad.

En gissning bara, men kanske för att filmen är regisserad av en britt och huvudrollen också spelas av en britt samt att tidningen är just brittisk?

Mycket möjligt. Skrev mitt förra inlägg efter en vecka i skogen, kanske min mentala kraft var lite trött?.

Håller med 100%, Batman Begins kommer bli i stort sätt ruta för ruta hur jag själv skulle vilja göra en Batman film. Nu gör Nolan den åt mig .
