Cameos är kul, bara det inte blir alldeles för mycket.

Det kan bli riktigt kul. Man får ha med mutant-skådar boken till biografen och pricka för alla mutanter man ser ;)

Ännu mer nyheter!

Från Xverse:

The Xverse has had more confirmation on scoring for X-Men 3. Although IMDB is now listing Ilan Eshkeri (a name we originally confirmed here) and Lalo Schifrin as composers for the movie, we have had confirmation from Schifrin's representation that he is not involved in the project.

In addition, Scott Nicholson, who doubled Hugh Jackman for X2: X-Men United, is working on stunts in Vancouver for X-Men 3.

The film also has some accomplished artists working on it, in the form of James Clyne (concept art and illustration, War of the Worlds, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) and Wojciech Nowakoski (scenic painter, Merlin's Apprentice, Touching Evil).

In potential casting news, aspiring actor Richard Hogg's biography on TV.com states that he was hired as Avalanche for X2, but never used, and has since been brought back in the same role for X3. The actor posted recently on a messageboard to say he was going to Vancouver for filming.

Last, but not least, Bill Grassbaugh posted a message to former classmates online to say that he is working on X3 as well. He didn't indicate whether he was involved with the cast or crew, but said that he is working on his acting and modeling career.

Gissa vad jag kommer med. Nya nyheter

Från Comics Continuum:

X3 UPDATE

Ralph Winter, producer of the third X-Men movie, told The Continuum that production under director Brett Ratner is going well.

"We are in our sixth week now of photography, getting great footage with a script and story we feel is better than ever for the X-Men franchise," Winter said.

"All of our actors are back, having fun, and we are working hard. It is going to be great."

Winter has produced all three X-Men films. He also produced Fantastic Four, and even appeared in a small role at the end of the movie.

In other X3 news:

* There have been conflicting reports about who Shohreh Aghdashloo is playing -- Cecelia Reyes or Kavita Rao. Asked to clarify, Winter said, "As far as I know, she is playing Kavita Rao."

* Zak Penn, who wrote X3 with Simon Kinberg, has been on the set in Vancouver, British Columbia. During a recent convention appearance, he said that his job is be "keeper of the flame" of the X-Men mythology, which includes many challenges.

"In addition to just figuring out how the hell am I going take, like for example in X-Men 2, these 17 characters and give them screen time that¹s appropriate," Penn said, "the other thing is you¹re generally also trying to fight all the battles on, 'OK, this is what I see as being the heart of the material, and how am I going to keep all these different people happy?'

"People like Kevin (Feige) are an excellent ally at Marvel because he is the only other person in the room who's truly focused on here is what the source material is about and here is why we're making an X-Men movie. It's not just because Hugh Jackman's a big star; it's because people love the story of the X-Men on a fundamental level.

"And with almost of all of these Marvel properties, that¹s what it¹s about."

* Rebecca Romijn, who is returning as Mystique, was featured by Extra in a spot on actors getting in tip-top shape.

Detta börjar ta form till något någorlunda intressant i all fall

Från XMen Films och Superherohype:

Davis from Hepnar.org http://www.hepnar.or...o-victoria.html originally posted a story on his official site that he got to visit the set of X3 back in August when they shot scenes at the Royal Roads university (which doubled as the School For The Gifted). I sent Davis a message an asked him if he could -for the sake of a desperate X-Men fan- give a more detailed description of the scenes they shot that day and what the actors looked like. I was flabbergasted when i almost immediately got this reply. BIG THANKS TO DAVIS from HEPNAR.ORG for answering this!!

My original message to Davis
Retroman:
Quote:
Hi Davis,
I'm from Holland and am a poster on the SHH forums and noticed you posted a small bit about your experience on the X3 set.
I was wondering could you please tell a little more about what Halle Berry (her hair/clothes), Ellen Page, Kelsey Grammer and the other actors looked like? Can you describe the scene(s) they were shooting?Did you see any strange looking people in make-up, wearing trenchcoats, bandanas, carrying a stick perhaps?
Thanks
Retroman
P.S: Did you get any pictures of the set at all?

(Reply from Davis)
X3 Scene/Actor's Look Description (SPOILERS!)

Halle Berry as Storm in X-Men 2

Quote:
So I went to the X-Men III Set (sorry, we didn't take any photos) And
while I was there I saw Halle Berry, Ellen Page, and Shawn Ashmore.
Kelsey Grammar wasn't shooting that day.

Anyhoo, Halle Berry was all dressed up in her black Storm outfit, with
her white hair and makeup. Check out the included photo. She was
wearing that exact outfit, loose the cape.

Ellen Page and Shawn Ashmore were in their regular clothes. No special
outfits or costumes, except for one scene where the two skate on an
ice pond. Shawn Ashmore wore a pair of specially designed skates that
were supposed to look like they were made out of ice.

Aside from the ice pond scene, Ellen and Halle shot a scene where
Ellen (a.k.a. "Kitty Pryde") is looking at the memorial headstone type
things for............ and Jean Grey. Halle walks up behind her, they say a
few lines, then walk away.

Appaerantly, Famke Janssen was there that day, but wasn't shooting
while I was there. She re-appears in the movie at some point.

The whole plot is being kept very secret. The crew don't even get
scripts, so appart from what I saw being filmed, I can't really tell
you what happens in the movie, except for one thing. Rogue see Iceman
("Bobby Drake") kissing Kitty Pryde. That's all I know.

Anyway, I hope that was enough info for you. Thanks for leaving a
comment on the site!

Nyheter från X-Verse. Det verkar inte som det blir någon cameo med Gambit:

EXCLUSIVE: Gambit's Fate in X-Men 3
Posted Thursday September 8th, 2005

A large body of fans of the X-Men comic books have been waiting for official casting news from the X3 production about the character Gambit, a charming thief who can charge objects with kinetic energy, causing them to explode. Thus far, a cameo has been discussed for several films, but it has yet to materialize.

Today, Ralph Winter (one of the film's producers) confirmed to The Xverse that there is no appearance by Gambit in X-Men 3 -- but that it might be included in "the next one". This indicates that despite any possible plans to end the series with a trilogy, people involved with production are open to future X-sequels.

So, will we see Gambit in X-Men 4? Only time will tell.

Också en intervju med killen som är militärt ansvarig:

EXCLUSIVE: Ron Blecker Talks about the X-Men
Posted Thursday September 8th, 2005

As the military advisor for X-Men 3 and X2: X-Men United, Ron Blecker seems to be the go-to man for how the production portrays the military's involvement in mutant affairs. Ron has been busy helping out X3's production teams with the movie's filming, which means he wasn't able to answer our questions when we first contacted him a few weeks ago, but recently took an opportunity to talk to us about his experiences. Ron asked that site visitors be aware that he is unable to talk about X-Men 3 at the moment, but did discuss his participation in X2.

TheXverse: What does your job entail on a day-to-day basis? How involved with the project were you, and how long did you work on the film?
Ron Blecker: My job as a Military Technical Advisor varies from project to project. Sometimes it's very involved in every aspect of production and sometimes what happens on set. For X2 I was brough in from the very beginning. I worked with the writers, props dept, costume dept, stunt coordinator and production designer. I consulted on the uniforms, tactics, weapons, and air assault on the X Mansion. I was a Rappel Master in the U.S. Army so I supervised the training and rigging for the stunt performers who did all the rappelling. On set I assisted in choreographing the soldiers' movements and patterns. Thanks to the producers, director and AD team, I was given a lot of freedom to make sure that these guys looked like they knew what they were doing. My team of advisors worked on the project as well. It was too big to do alone and somethimes they don't get the credit they deserve for the job they do. Jeff Harris and Trevor Herman did a great job and I'd like to publicly thank them for all the work they do.

TXV: I notice that for X2 you are listed as a "technical advisor", but for other projects, as a "military advisor"? What is the difference between the two?
RB: There is no difference between a "Technical Advisor" and "Military Advisor". It all depends on what the Post Production Producer puts on the credits. If the production has a military or police theme then you can be sure that if someone is listed as the "Technical Advisor", it means they were consulting on the Military or Police aspect of the production.

TXV: As an advisor, did you work with the cast and crew on the set, or did you work in the production offices? What areas of the film crew did you spend most of your time with?
RB: I work in both places. During pre-production you'll find me in the offices, going from meeting to meeting. I normally don't have an office in the production office itself. If there is research that has to be done, I do it from my own offices or hotel room where I can access my staff via the internet or telephone. Once production begins, I'm on set or in rehearsals working with cast and background performers.

TXV: Do you have any funny or really memorable stories from working on the project?
RB: Yes I do. I recall that while we were filming at the X-Mansion set, there was a crowd of people who were waiting behind the barriers to watch what was going on. Some of them had been there since 6am. We didn't start working that day until 11am. These people were really great. They didn't cause any problems, make any noise or disrupt any work; they were really great. That night at about 1:30am, we were still filming and Bryan Singer went out side to see who was still there. Sure enough there were a few people who had been there since 6am. Bryan invited them inside to sit around the monitors, and watch the rest of the day's work. I was really impressed with the way the fans handled themselves and the generosity of Bryan; it was the one and only time I have ever seen anything like that.

TXV: Have you ever read the X-Men comics? Ayou a fan?
RB: As a kid I was a fan of Wolverine. I didn't have the comic books, but was able to watch some of the earlier X-Men cartoons with my brother.

TXV: What are your opinions of the finished product for X2, and how do you think your involvement influenced it?
RB: I am very happy with the way X2 turned out. As for my influence, I cannot respond to that. There were so many people who busted their asses on that movie, that for me to say I had any influence on its success would be demeaning all the work the rest of the crew had done.

TXV: How do you feel about working with a different production crew for X-Men 3 versus X2?
RB: The producers are the same, and I have always had a great working relationship with them.

TXV: Have you ever come up against a production with a lot of incorrect ideas/stereotypes that you've had to strongly advise against?
RB: That happens all the time. But that's why I'm there. There are producers and directors who really care about how things look on their project, and they bring me on to make sure it looks right and doesn't distract from the story, and what audiences are supposed to see instead of mistakes that take their attention away from the story.

TXV: Would you be interested in pursuing a career in acting, or another branch of movie making?
RB: I don't have any desire to be an actor. That being said, I have been on camera a few times at the request of the directors or producers. Acting really is a talent that I don't have and never will. I think if you put all my lines together, it wouldn't even equal a paragraph, and even then my bit parts involve Military characters, which really doesn't require me to act, just to remember. I have produced a few independent films, and I am always looking for a challenge. I think being a producer presents different challenges on a daily basis. If I ever were to move to another branch of the business it would be as a producer.

TXV: What is your favorite part of being involved with movie productions/film making?
RB: My favorite part is that everyday it's something different. It's always a new place, new people, and new experiences. Not one day is ever the same as the last.

Our thanks to Ron for speaking with us; to find out more about him and his work, visit his website, Def-Con-5!

Ännu mer nyheter som omväxling

XMF's has learned that 12-year old Riley Cantner and 14-year old Sanjeen Sandhu are part of the cast of X-Kids. Cantner's credits include Mission To Mars, Get Carter and Life Or Something Like It. Sandhu was an undcredited student at Xavier's School for the Gifted in the second X-Men film. Both Riley anbd Sanjeen have already been on set for scenes that were shot at the Royal Roads University in Victoria, Canada last month.

Actor Peter Williams who a while back revealed that he was up for a role read for a mutant role his reps told XMF. They declined to say which mutant and could if another actor had been chosen for the part.We can also reveal that X2 actor Cotter Smith will NOT return as President McKenna. His reps told XMF that he'll continue to work on his new tv series Nightstalker.

In other casting news The Barbara Coultish Talent Management have announced more X3 cast members and their respective roles on their official website. Close to a hundred of their talent worked on the sets of X-Men 3 which has finished it's filming in Victoria.  Andrew Abud was chosen as a Chauffeur, Art Hives, Peggy Daniel and Will Rogers had special makeup done, James Leard as a Doctor and Susan Wilkey  & Donlea Maxwell as Nurses.  Also many of their teens were chosen as students for several days continuity.

A few weeks back we were the first to reveal that Framestore CFC were delivering an unknown quantity of vfx shots for X3. Today we can exclusively reveal more potentially great news in the visual effects department. Academy award winning effects house Digital Domain are on the verge of signing a deal to deliver some of the visual effects shots on X-Men 3. The company's credits include X-Men, Fight Club, Day After Tommorow, Titanic, Lord of The Rings and I, Robot.

Here are some new crew additions - Art Director Chad Frey (MI: 3, Memoirs of a Geisha, Hulk), Production supervisor Jason McGatlin (X2, War Of The Worlds), conceptual artist James Clyne (Minority Report, Troy, War Of The Worlds), storyboard artist Tim Burgard (Superman Returns, Ali, Terminator 2), scenic artist/designer Wojciech (Voytek) Nowakowski (K-19 Widowmaker), previsualization artist Shane Cook ( XXX 2) and digital artist Thomas Reppen (Aeon Flux, Day After Tommorow).

Nya nyheter från X-Men Films. Med bilder från filmingen också. Verkar intressant ändå. Också självklart. Nyheter om cameos

Have you had enough X3 news for today? I was wondering if I should say this today, or just hold off on it, but it’s exciting news, so we’re going to go and post it now. The X3 cast is ever-expanding with cameos from the X-MEN comics, and now XMF can exclusively reveal two more cameos that you’ll see on the big screen, come May 26th 2006! We back this statement with 100% confidence, and have seen visual proof, so there are no doubts.

OMEGA RED and GAUNLET will be featured briefly in the film, in a scene that resembles the X-Men Evolution episode where the same two characters are chasing after the character, X23. Only this time…it’ll be Wolverine.

What’s happening in this scene? We don’t have the full details, but we do know that the scene has been shot already. You may remember seeing photo’s of Hugh Jackman on set recently. It happens in the very same scene. Could it lead off into the WOLVERINE film? Only time will tell!

For more info on Omega Red, check out his bio information on Wikipedia. Gaunlet appears to be a lesser known character, as we could not find bio info on him

Helt galna spoilers! Kan bli en rätt reko film ändå

So you thought you knew it all when we released information on Omega Red and Gauntlet, huh? Well you were wrong. XMF has just received a 100% totally backed up by us exclusive that will blow your pants right off. Before reading this however we’d like you to realize that every bit of this is considered a ‘major’ spoiler and will ruin the scene for you, however…it will not ruin the movie. So at your own discretion (highlight the text below) read on....
First on the agenda is that we’ve received information on ‘Sentinels’. They are in this movie. Our new source (who we back completely) has told us there will be a scene with Wolverine and Storm. The best description we can offer is: Storm pulls Logan from a car before a foot crunches down on it, making it not look like a car anymore! You can then expect Wolverine to pound the crap out of it, guaranteed.
Going to a scene that will probably air in the movie before the Sentinel intro, we have Wolverine wandering in the forest. A lot of speculation has went on that he was in a confrontation with someone. We then got news about Omega Red and Gauntlet. We now have the complete story, but it doesn’t start with Wolverine or the two new cameos. Think about Phoenix for a moment. Because that is where this scene begins.
Just so you all know, this scene will be cut into parts, that will go back and forth between them. The parts of this scene are from different places, and are different confrontations, but there all happening at the same exact time, and there all apart of the same scene plot. This is where the spoilage gets extreme, read further at your discretion.

Explanation: The brotherhood want to get to the phoenix, she is confused and about to rise. Magneto knows this, and wants to take advantage of it. He splits up his men, and decides to create diversions so the X-men can’t get to the phoenix. But he fails, because the scene clearly starts off….

Part 1 - Angel, Beast, Cyclops, Xavier, & Storm are there where Jean Grey (The Dark Phoenix) Is rising, by there surprise Magneto and Mystique are also there. Xavier and his team seem to be there to aid Jean, while the brotherhood seems to be there to corrupt. A bit of powers begin to fly, brother hood vs. x-men and at a point phoenix versus everyone.

Part 2 - Close by in the forest you can see Wolverine running, nothing was explained about that. He was probably on his way to the other older x-men. Next thing you know Omega Red, Gauntlet, Multiple Man and a bunch of Omega Red’s henchman surround him. By some sort of coincidence some sort of military ( XMF was NOT told what the name of the faction was but we do know that they have something to do with the Sentinels. ) show up and the surround all four mutants. Multiple Man multiplies and takes them on, as Gauntlet and Omega Red take on Wolverine. This scene is brotherhood diversion one.

To sum it up: Wolverine Vs Omega Red, Gauntlet, Multiple Man. Unknown faction against all the mutants. Double fight in one.

Part 3 - As said, happening at the same time, a fight at the X-mansion begins. New brotherhood members Pyro, Scarlet Witch and Avalanche approach the frontal area of the Xavier Institute. Approaching them immediately are Rogue, Ice Man, Jubilee and X-Kid. Right away conflict flares and without any explanation to why they begin to fight, it seems to of been acknowledged it wasn’t a friendly meet and greet.

Part 2 summed up: Avalanche Vs Jubilee, Pyro Vs Ice Man & Rogue/X-Kid Vs Scarlet Witch.

Part 4 - You can’t leave out the biggest and badest it seems, because when all this is going on, who would’ve thought Juggernaut was on campus as well. Luckily Colossus was around. Colossus faces off at the X-mansion with none other then Juggernaut. Good thing he had help available from x-student Kitty Pryde aka Shadow cat.

XMF was not given exact information on which team beat each team in each moment, but expect a classic x-men clash. This is the fight scene X-fans have been dying to have, and here it is. This is a rewritten perception of the information we were given. It was rewrote in a way that you guys can read it and probably enjoy it more. We were told that this scene is 7-10 minutes long, and really wasn’t a big part of the movie at all. Its looking good for X3. This is from the same source who gave us the information on Omega Red & Gauntlet, we support this 100% and can tell you this is fact, and not fiction

IGN Interviews Simon Kinberg
The screenwriter talks X-Men 3, Ratner & Gambit!
by IGN FilmForce

September 30, 2005 - Along with scribe Zak Penn, British-born Simon Kinberg is the screenwriter of the now-filming X-Men 3. He has worked on two other 20th Century Fox/Marvel Studios collaborations, Fantastic Four and Elektra. His Columbia University senior thesis script, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, was produced with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie starring and became one of summer 2005's biggest hits.

With X3 roughly midway through filming for its May 26, 2006 release date, Mr. Kinberg was kind enough to take time out to speak with IGN FilmForce about the film, director Brett Ratner and Marvel in general.

IGN FilmForce: Now that X-Men 3 is about halfway through principal photography, what do you think have been the biggest challenges the production has faced thus far? And what's gone better than expected?

Simon Kinberg: The challenges are the same as any movie. The only difference is this film is larger than any I've been around. I think the biggest challenge from a script standpoint has been making sure we take care of all the characters. There are ten or eleven major characters in this film that all need time and focus.

To answer the second question, I think this film is much more emotional than I ever imagined. There are some really heart-breaking moments in the movie. And the performances are so damn good, beyond my wildest expectations.

IGNFF: Director Brett Ratner has not exactly been met with universal approval by fans, especially given the mostly warm reception Bryan Singer's X-Men films received. What strengths do you think Ratner brings to this particular project that fans should know about?

Kinberg: Well, first and foremost, Brett starts from a love of the comics. He's got an immense respect for the X-Men universe. He's also got a lot of respect for Bryan's films, so he's not trying to create a radically different template. He's staying loyal to the tone of the first two films, but he's making this movie more visceral and emotional. Since we're dealing with one of the most intense storylines in X-Men history, he knows how important emotion is. And the actors have really responded to him. Wait till you see Famke Janssen in this film. She's going to blow your mind.

Famke Janssen (L) as Jean Grey and Hugh Jackman ® as Wolverine in X2: X-Men United.

IGNFF: Some fans also have voiced concern that X3 is overstuffed with characters. But are these "guest stars" (such as Multiple Man and Moira MacTaggert) merely just "easter eggs" for fans? Sort of like how Dick Tracy included many cameos but the story still focused on three or four central protagonists.

Kinberg: I'm Jewish, so I don't know much about easter eggs. But I don't think our movie is overstuffed with characters. That would be like saying the comics are too crowded with characters. This film takes place in the X-Men universe, so when we write a geneticist, it's Kavita Rao instead of some nameless, faceless doctor. This movie has a bigger canvas than the first two films, so there's room for more characters. Think about how many characters there were in Return of the King or Revenge of the Sith. Having said that, there's still not enough room for every great character, so we have to make sacrifices sometimes. Like Gambit. I'm a huge Gambit fan, but we knew there wasn't enough space to do him justice, so he'll have to wait till X4.

IGNFF Since I know you can't talk about the film's plot in any revealing detail, what then would you say X-Men 3 is about thematically?

Kinberg: One of the great things that Bryan did with the first two films was really making them about something. He understood the metaphor of the comic, and translated it to the screen. This movie continues some of the universal X-Men themes, like alienation, persecution, the struggle for equality. But on an emotional level, it also deals with what happens when someone you love starts to spiral out of control. How can you help them? When is it too late?

IGNFF: It has been revealed/alleged that certain characters will die in X3. Why do the filmmakers feel it is necessary to do that?

Kinberg: I know what's been alleged online. Some of it is true. Most of it is not. All I can say is, death is a part of life. One of the moments I remember most vividly from childhood was when Obi-Wan died. …

IGNFF: Many fans think Nightcrawler stole the show in X2. Which character do you think will most likely be the standout in X3?

Kinberg: I think we have a bunch of cool new characters. If I had to choose one, I would say Beast. He looks incredible. The prosthetics are better than anything I've ever seen. And Kelsey [Grammer] is uncanny in the role. As much as he seems perfect for Frasier, this guy was born to play Hank McCoy. The voice, the eyes, the intelligence, the pathos in his voice, just the way he walks.

IGNFF: Does X3 set up an X4 or the Wolverine spin-off? Or is this really the end of the X-Men film series?

Kinberg: We didn't write the script with the next movies in mind. But it's definitely not the end of the series. I know they [20th Century Fox and Marvel Studios] plan on making Wolverine and more X-Men movies. We wrote the script as the end of a trilogy, the end of one cycle. The next movies will start a new cycle.

Newsweek interviewed James Marsden who stars in both Bryan Singer's Superman Returns and Brett Ratner's X-Men 3. Here are a few highlights from the article:

You're shooting the new "Superman" movie, right?
Yes, one of these gigantic movies. It takes an eternity to finish—we started in March.

And you play Lois Lane's fiancé?
They have a child together—and Superman comes back and sees the love of his life is moving on. That's basically all I can say. They make you sign these lengthy confidentiality agreements.

How is Superman different than the "X-Men" films, which are also directed by Bryan Singer.
Bryan creates an atmosphere around him. He has a certain directing style that he has obviously carried over. I think that the tone of "Superman" is going to be a bit more fun and light.

You're playing Cyclops again in "X-Men 3," too. Is it hard acting with your eyes covered?
What's difficult with Cyclops is that he's very stiff. I had to rely on my voice to convey emotion. When you're surrounded by these great voices like Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen, it really helps hone your skills. But we have a 4½-year-old boy named Jack. He doesn't know what to make of me on screen yet. I think it sort of spooks him. When I'm in the car, I have a pair of sunglasses to block the sun while driving. He'll see me in the rearview mirror and say: "Dad can you take those off?"
