A few hundred years from now an asteroid bearing a strange ice crystal crashes in the forests of Sumatra. The authorities turn to an aging, once-famous scientist, who discovers a warning encoded in the crystal. Soon a terrifying attack is launched upon the Earth, but the scientist and a shipful of mostly young cadets escape through a Space-Time Rend. Catapulted deep into an unknown galaxy, far beyond where any human has ever gone, they land on a mysterious blue planet that seems to have been awaiting them….the ICE PLANET.
