Skulle vara intressant att veta. Jag har läst att det inte är omöjligt, men det händer nog inte så väldigt ofta tror jag. Men, så är de ju en tv serie ändå. Allt är möjligt.

Nya serien

Robert C. Cooper, executive producer of SCI FI Channel's Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis, confirmed to SCI FI Wire that he's developing a third series with the working title Stargate Universe, but remained mum on details. (The project has not yet been picked up by any network, including SCI FI Channel.)

"It's being developed," Cooper said in an interview on the Vancouver, Canada, set of the two series. "Not a lot to say at the moment, other than it's ... not the characters from SG-1 or Atlantis. It's a completely third entity. The third series is born of the mythology that's been established."

Cooper added that the proposed third series will take place in the present day. "One thing that we think contributes to the success of [all of]the series and the concept behind the series is that it takes place in the here and now. ... It's about us and our age of people dealing with fantastic things, like Stargates and wormholes and aliens. And then there's an identifiable quality to the people in the show. It's not like an antiseptic version of humanity sometime 500 years in the future. [SG-1's] Jack O'Neill [Richard Dean Anderson] was a guy who everybody could relate to, and his reactions to the more fantastic elements of the series were the reactions the average Joe on the street might have."

SG-1 and Atlantis executive producer Paul Mullie added: "It's all top secret."

Either that, added fellow executive producer Joseph Mallozzi, or "it just hasn't been written yet. I'm not sure which."

Atlantis Embraces Luttrell's Pregnancy




Rachel Luttrell, who plays the fierce warrior Teyla in SCI FI Channel's original series Stargate Atlantis, told SCI FI Wire that the producers are writing her real-life pregnancy into the show's fourth-season storyline.

"They're golden," Luttrell said in an interview on the show's Vancouver, Canada, set. "It's not only the fact that she's going to have this darker side, but also the fact that she's going to be faced with taking care of someone who may be the last of her kind. There are so many interesting colors that are now coming out."

Luttrell said that she is shooting her roles out of sequence so that her pregnancy doesn't affect her ability to perform action sequences. She'll actually have more action sequences than before. "From the get-go, this has been the most physical season for me thus far," Luttrell said. "It's almost like they were, 'Oh, my God, let's get it in all at once.' I guess at this point forward they probably will [cut back some]."

Stargate Atlantis has already begun shooting its fourth season, and there are changes in store for her character beyond the pregnancy, Luttrell said. "There have been little things that have been touched on throughout the past seasons: The fact that she has these powers that are innate to her, her physiology, etc.," she said. "So we expand that a little bit in terms of her links to the Wraith."

Luttrell added that Teyla may also find a little romance. "She actually does have a love interest that she's been hiding from everybody," she said with a laugh. "We haven't met him yet. I haven't met him yet. I hope I'm part of the casting process."

Tapping Eager To Join Atlantis

Stargate SG-1 star Amanda Tapping, who joins SCI FI Channel's spinoff series Stargate Atlantis next season, told SCI FI Wire she's still enthusiastic about playing Col. Samantha Carter even after 10 seasons.

"It's been great, " Tapping said last week during a spate of publicity in Vancouver, Canada. "It's kind of an embarrassment of riches for me at the moment. The fact that my character moved over to Atlantis [makes her]a completely different character for me now. Carter being in charge, having her own command, changes her character so much that it's not at all boring. It doesn't feel like I'm playing the same Carter.

In Atlantis' upcoming fourth season (spoilers ahead!), Carter takes over the multinational team, replacing Torri Higginson's Dr. Elizabeth Weir, whose fate is uncertain. (The season finale of Atlantis, "First Strike," airs June 22 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.)

Carter's new assignment is unlike any other she's ever taken, Tapping said. "She's in command now, as opposed to being in Sam's comfort zone, which was being part of the hierarchy of the military and being in a subordinate position," she said.

Known as the brainiac of SG-1, Carter will now need to rely more on the expertise around her, including Lt. Col. John Sheppard (Joe Flanigan). "She understands Sheppard's military expertise, and even though she may have the same amount of military expertise, it's not in this galaxy. She's never fought the Wraith before, so she defers to him a lot. She defers to [Dr. Rodney] McKay [played by David Hewlett] and his scientific expertise in the Pegasus galaxy. And then Teyla [Rachel Luttrell] and Ronon [Jason Momoa] are complete unknowns to her, so she really has to make her way with them."

After more than a decade in the Stargate SG-1 universe, it didn't take Tapping long to nail down the differences between the two shows. "SG-1 is a bit more irreverent, I think," Tapping said. "SG-1 has a certain sense of humor to it, and even though we're stuck on Earth on a military base, ... we're more accessible because we're present-day human beings on Earth. Whereas Atlantis has a bit more otherworldly feel to it, and it's a bit darker, in a lot of ways." The series finale of Stargate SG-1, "Unending," airs June 22 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. En sanning med modifikation. I SG-1 är det väl så men i Atlantis har de ju tillgång till fläskiga rymdskepp och högavancerade futuristiska prylar, så den seriens upplägg skulle lika gärna kunnna vara i framtiden.

Jag skulle tycka synd om dem, om det inte vore för att de minsann inte behöver vänta lika länge på säsong fyra efter att de sett klart säsong tre. Och cliffhangern i slutet av säsongen var värre än den i mitten av säsongen, tycker jag.
...så de kan ändå skatta sig lyckliga som hade det där fruktansvärda uppehållet.

Nej, vänta det funkar ju inte... uhm... jag var för upptagen med att finslipa min geniala plan för att uppnå världsherravälde - nej, jag hade ju kunnat rekrytera kanonmat fotsoldater trofasta och generöst betalda minions på den här sidan, så det låter ju bara dumt.... uhm... ah, just ja, jag kollade in här lite då och då men var för lat för att registrera mig?

Men det här med att SGA slutar vara sommarserie är inte bra alls! Jag hade planerat att dra ned på TV-tittandet i höst, och spara de flesta av serierna jag följer till jullovet/sommarlovet... men det är svårt att välja vilka serier jag inte ska följa i USA-takt, och nu blev det hela ännu mer komplicerat. Jag vill ju veta vad som händer efter den där säsongsfinalen!

2.2 miljoner såg sista avsnittet av Stargate SG-1.

The heavily promoted (or should we say promoted) episode "Unending" scored a 1.7 rating, about 50 percent higher than its recent numbers.

This represents 2.2 million viewers for the swan song of the veteran series.

"Unending" made SCI FI Channel the number one cable channel among the 18 to 49 and 25 to 54 demographics at the 8 p.m. hour, and even beat broadcast networks FOX, CBS and ABC among men 25 to 54 and 18 to 49.

Beware of spoilers for the fourth season of Stargate Atlantis in the story below!

As Samantha Carter (Amanda Tapping) takes over command of the Stargate Atlantis expedition, she will have to do more than just worry about the constant expressions of lust from Rodney McKay (David Hewlett).

Outside of making babies, the Atlantis expedition is going to make contact with its first race that is actually far more technologically advanced than just about every other culture they have faced. Because cultures in the galaxy tend to not advance very far society-wise because of cullings by the Wraith, cultures that are more advanced than those manning Atlantis have been few and far between.

However, the Travelers, as they are called, are expected to make an appearance early in the fourth season ("Travelers").

"One of the things that Atlantis kind of lacked that [Stargate SG-1] had were technologically advanced races," said executive producer Joseph Mallozzi. "We created this race called the Travelers. They are nomads, traveling on ships and establishing a civilization. They are very rustic, and have a very cool look."

The Travellers are expected to show up again sometime after the fourth episode during the upcoming season, Mallozzi said.

Because the first DVD movie will be a continuation of Season 10, the DVD will include a 1-hour special on the history of Stargate so that viewers who haven’t seen all of Stargate will know what is going on. The special will be called “Stargate Mythology” and will include material on how real-world ancient mythology has played into the Stargate shows.

The pay-off of the Ori storyline will be in the first DVD movie, which RCC is writing and directing. He had planned it as an arc for Season 11, but will now resolve it in a “very exciting” two hours. MGM has financed the movies based only on projected DVD sales, but are looking for broadcast deals as well. The funding for each of the 2 DVD movies is more than it would be for 2 episodes, but still nowhere near a feature-type budget, so they will be using their creativity to make it look big on a TV-movie budget.
