Lite synd på Deadpool bara. Det lilla man såg av honom var väldigt långt från karaktären i serierna.
Spoilermarkerar för säkerhets skull;

Wolverine Movie Update!
Spoiler Alert: An analysis of the clip shown at comic con unveils yet another new surprise character.

Following the initial announcement of the movie, Fox announced that Wolverine will be joined by Weapon X members Beak, Sabretooth, Silver Fox, William Stryker, Agent Zero and John Wraith. As things progressed, new characters were added to the fold, but one was kept hidden until now.

In recent months, it was revealed that Deadpool, Gambit, The Blob, and Scott Summers were added to the list of characters. What they didn't tell us was that Emma Frost aka The White Queen would have a cameo appearance in Logan's new origin story. As a matter of fact, the character does not appear in the IMDB profile, the movie's profile on Marvel.com or the Wikipedia page.

Rumor: Director and Studio Head Battle Over Wolverine?
...The basic gist is that Fox co-chairman and CEO Tom Rothman has been going around director Gavin Hood in an attempt to make X-Men Origins: Wolverine a more kid-friendly film. Wells’ source claims that when Hood left a set which was being prepped for a “dark, dinghy and somber” look, only to return to something much brighter and totally different than he had planned.

The Wolverine situation is something that movie journalists have been talking about since February. You probably didn’t notice because most of us didn’t write about it. And even now, I’m not exactly sure what I could or should say. So I’ll just relay the RUMOR that Jeff Wells is reporting on Hollywood Elsewhere.

Hood and Rothman sturggling over 'Wolverine'? - Story @ Comics2Film.com

First 'Punisher War Zone'. Then 'Watchmen'. Now a gossip column report suggests 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine' may be fostering a controversy of its own.

Jeffrey Wells on Hollywood Elsewhere reports that there is a power struggle brewing on the set of the 20th Century Fox's X-spinoff between director Gavin Hood and studio co-chairman and CEO Tom Rothman.

Unnamed sources claim that Rothman sparked the director's animosity by ordering the repainting a set that was intentionally dressed to be dark and grimy. Rothman's extreme makeover supposedly happened behind the director's back while he was handling location shoots and Hood was, according to the source, "shocked" to see his vision altered.

However, Wells admits that there may not be much more to the "power struggle" than that single incidient, and he isn't quite sure if there's been any fallout from the incident beyond Hood being surprised.

SPOILER ALERT! X-Men Origins: Wolverine

We've got an organized listing of all the major rumors, confirmed and unconfirmed, from the movie's conception! Gathered together in one place, they paint a vivid picture of what we can expect to see in the film beyond the released storyline...

UGO did an excellent job of putting all this together. So give them some love...

What we know... Confirmed:

X-Men Origins: Wolverine stars Hugh Jackman and is directed by Gavin Hood (Tsotsi, Rendition). The producers are Lauren Shuler Donner and Ralph Winter (who produced all three previous “X-Men” films), along with Jackman and his Seed Prods. producing partner, John Palermo. The film will be executive produced by Marvel Films’ Kevin Feige. (ComingSoon.net)

Set seventeen years before X-Men, the film will focus on Wolverine’s violent past, and his early encounters with William Stryker. The Weapon X program and his interactions with other mutants will be explored, including his complex relationship with Sabretooth.

Wolverine’s nemesis Sabretooth “is going to play a big part in it. And there will be a good bit of cameos” of new and familiar mutants, Jackman says. “But you can’t give too much away, because fans are pretty hard-core. Their expectations go up a level every time you come out with a new film.” (USA Today)

David Benioff, a comic book fan, pursued the project for almost three years before he was hired to write the script in October 2004. In preparing to write the script, he reread Barry Windsor-Smith’s “Weapon X” story (1991), as well as Chris Claremont and Frank Miller’s 1982 limited series on the character (his favorite storyline). (Newsarama)

Jackman collaborated on the script, which he wanted to be more of a character piece compared with the previous X-Men films. (CanMag)

Benioff aimed for a “darker and a bit more brutal” story, writing it with an R rating in mind, although he acknowledged the film’s final tone would rest with the producers and director. (Newsarama)

Hugh Jackman did not see the need to push the amount of onscreen violence. (Latino Review)

In October 2006 the script was finished, and Jackman stated there would be a year before shooting, as he was scheduled to start filming Australia (2008) during 2007. (Super Hero Hype, Daily News)

Before the 2007–2008 Writers Guild of America strike began, James Vanderbilt and Scott Silver were hired for a last-minute rewrite. (Variety)

Gavin Hood was announced as director of the project in July 2007 for a 2008 release. (Variety)

Previously, X-Men and X2 director Bryan Singer and X-Men: The Last Stand director Brett Ratner were interested in returning to the franchise. (Honolulu Advertiser, imdb News)

Directors Alexandre Aja and Len Wiseman also expressed interest in directing the film. (ifmagazine.com, superherohype.com)

Zack Snyder, who was approached for The Last Stand, turned down this film because he was directing Watchmen. (iesb.net)

Hood explained that while he was not a comic book fan, he “realized that the character of Wolverine, I think his great appeal lies in the fact that he’s someone who in some ways, is filled with a great deal of self-loathing by his own nature and he’s constantly at war with his own nature”. (SuperHeroHype.com)

The director described the film’s themes as focusing on Wolverine’s inner struggle between his animalistic savagery and noble human qualities. Hood enjoyed the previous films, but set out to give the spin-off a different feel. (MTV)

In October 2007, Fox announced a May 1, 2009 release date and the X-Men Origins prefix. (Variety)

Preliminary shooting took place at Fox Studios Australia (in Sydney) during late 2007. (stuff.co.nz)

Principal photography began on January 18, 2008 in New Zealand. Locations included Dunedin, Glenorchy and Milford Sound. (Hollywood Reporter, TV3.co.nz)

Controversy arose as the Queenstown Lakes District Council disputed the Department of Labour’s decision to allow Fox to store explosives in the local ice skating rink. Fox moved some of the explosives to another area. (TV3.co.nz)

The explosives were used for a shot of the exploding Hudson Farm, a scene which required four cameras. (stuff.co.nz)

Jackman and Palermo’s Woz Productions settled the drama with the council and agrreed to allow recycling specialists on set to advise the production on being environmentally friendly. (odt.co.nz)

Principal photography ended by May 23. The second unit continued filming in New Zealand until March 23, and were schedule to continue filming for two weeks following the first unit’s wrap. (iesb.net)

This extra filming included a flashback to Logan during the Normandy Landings, which was shot at Blacksmiths, New South Wales. (Coventry Telegraph)

David Weinstein did pre-visualization work for the film. His previous work includes Star Wars, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer and The Matrix. (thexverse.com)

20th Century Fox also secured Visual Effects Coordinator Damien Carr, a man who has worked alongside ILM (Industrial Light & Magic) on some of the biggest blockbusters to hit our screens recently. His credits include Pirates of the Carribean, Transformers and The Chronicles of Narnia. Also working in the VFX department is Visual Effects Producer Greg Baxter (Thir13en Ghosts, Epic Movie). (thexverse.com)

Comics2Film lists that Louise Mingenbach (X-Men, X2) has also joined production as costume designer alongside previously confirmed designer, Kym Barrett! (Comics2film.com)

According to this announcement from Rhino Buggies, the company’s Hammer will be featured in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. You can check out the Hummer replica models here. (RhinoBuggies via SuperHeroHype)

The Gorfaine/Schwartz Agency revealed that Harry Gregson-Williams is set to compose the score for the film.

“X-Men Origins: Wolverine” stars…

Hugh Jackman as Logan / Wolverine, the mutant and future X-Man. Jackman, who played Wolverine in the previous films, has also become producer of the film, and is being paid $20 million for the film. (Hollywood Reporter)

Jackman underwent a high intensity weight training regimen to bulk up for his role. He changed the program to shock the body into change and also performed cardiovascular workouts. (HealthBrands.com)

Jackman worked out in a Queenstown gym where he would arrive daily at 6am. He stayed in character and made noises while exercising. (Stuff.co.nz)

Troye Mellet plays the young Logan. Casting directors cast Mellet after seeing him sing at the Channel Seven Perth Telethon, and he was accepted after sending in an audition tape. (news.com.au)

Kodi Smit-McPhee was originally cast as young Logan, when filming was originally beginning in December 2007, but he opted out to film The Road. (Superhero Hype, Hollywood Reporter)

Liev Schreiber as Victor Creed / Sabretooth: Tyler Mane, who played him in X-Men, had hoped to reprise the role. (Variety, MTV)

Danny Huston as William Stryker: Schreiber was originally in negotiations for the part, while Brian Cox, who played the character in X2, wanted to reprise the role. He believed computer-generated imagery, similar to the program applied to Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen in the opening flashback of X-Men: The Last Stand, would allow him to appear as the younger Stryker. (Variety, AICN)

Lynn Collins as Kayla Silver Fox: Michelle Monaghan turned down the role because of scheduling conflicts, despite her enthusiasm to work with Jackman. (Variety, SuperheroHype)

Daniel Henney as David North / Agent Zero: A member of the Weapon X program and an expert tracker with lethal marksman skills. (Variety)

Will.i.am as John Wraith / Kestrel: A teleporting mutant who becomes a Weapon X test subject. It is will.i.am’s film debut. Although he initially did not get on with the casting director, he got the role because he wanted to play a mutant with the same power as Nightcrawler. He enrolled in boot camp to get into shape for the part. When filming a fight, he accidentally punched and broke the camera, which created a scar on his knuckles. (MTV, Variety, MTV Movies Blog)

Taylor Kitsch as Remy LeBeau / Gambit: A Cajun thief who has the ability to charge any object he touches with kinetic energy, forcing it to explode. The size of the object determines the magnitude of the resulting explosion. (Variety)

Dominic Monaghan as Barnell: “[He] has the ability to manipulate energy and electricity.” (Variety)

Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson / Deadpool: A wisecracking and thoroughly insane mercenary who can heal like Wolverine. (Variety)

Scott Adkins as Weapon XI: Weapon XI will feature in the end sequence fight scene against Wolverine. (Scott Adkins Fans)

Kevin Durand as Frederick J. Dukes / The Blob: An obese mutant with an indestructible layer of fat. (TBsource)

Tim Pocock cameos as a young Cyclops. (XmenFilms.net)

Asher Keddie and Tahyna Tozzi have unnamed roles. (smh.com, news.com.au)

Poker player Daniel Negreanu has a cameo appearance. Phil Hellmuth wanted to join him but was unable because he committed to an event in Toronto. (comics2film)

And, of course, X-Men co-creator Stan Lee has a cameo. (Associated Press)

Rumored:

There has been speculation that there could be a sequel which may be set in Japan. Such a location was the subject of Claremont and Miller’s series, which was not in the first film as Jackman felt “what we need to do is establish who [Logan] is and find out how he became Wolverine”. (SuperHeroHype)

The inclusion of Deadpool and Gambit has led to rumors that the two characters may eventually get their own spin-offs.

To realize the character of The Blob, the producers did FX tests with an actor in a rubber suit that makes him look like he’s 800 pounds, but it seems they will use CGI to increase his apparent weight to 1200 pounds. (FilmSchoolRejects)

The Press revelaed that an assessment of environmental effects report for the production revealed that, during the climax of the film, a military sniper shoots a rocket launcher at a barn, narrowly missing Wolverine but exploding the building. (stuff.co.nz)

Is Fox Destroying our Favorite Movies? at WorstPreviews™

In just the last couple of days, I have heard numerous directors and lots of fans complain about 20th Century Fox and the way they deal with some of their upcoming movies.
/.../
Then, there was "X-Men Origins: Wolverine." Director Gavin Hood had a big set built for a scene which he requested to look "dark, dinghy and somber." After being away from his newly designed set for a few days, he returns to find it completely repainted on orders from Fox co-chairman and CEO Tom Rothman. The now different set became brighter and less depressing. The source says that he was utterly surprised to see what has happened. But it is nothing new from Rothman.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine - The Silver Fox Speaks!
Lynn Collins on being The Silver Fox to Hugh Jackman's Wolverine...

This from MTV's Splash page...

Actress Lynn Collins recently told MTV News that playing Marvel mutant Silver Fox in the upcoming “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” not only allowed her to embrace her Native American roots, but also brought her very close to star Hugh Jackman.

“We’re lovers,” said Collins of her character’s relationship to Wolverine.

In Marvel Comics history, Silver Fox was a former love of Wolverine, and the pair lived together in the Canadian wilderness during the late-1900s before a series of tragic events (and crossed paths with other Marvel mutants) pushed their lives in dramatically different directions. Thus far, “X-Men Origins” seems to be based closely on that chapter in the comics history of Marvel’s favorite Canucklehead, with many of the characters who play significant roles in the print series’ over-arching story already cast in the film.

As for how she prepared for the role of Silver Fox, Collins said her male counterparts had a far rougher time of it when it came to getting into character.

“They were all on super-buff diets, and I had pizza most of the time,” said Collins. “They were so jealous of me.”

“I didn’t have to beef up in this movie,” she added. “I just had to wear skimpy clothes.”

Spoiler TV - Wolverine Producer Discusses Details and Deadpool

Wolverine Producer Lauren Schuler Donner recently spoke out about Wolverine being darker than in the X-Men Trilogy and about the hopes for a Deadpool spinoff.

Here are the details:

CS/SHH!: What's the latest you can tell us about "Wolverine"?

Lauren Schuler Donner: May 1st, 2009! I guess it's closer to the first "X-Men" in tone because it's a little darker, but there's a lot of action. It's his origin story. It's really good. I've been in the editing room the last couple of weeks and I think that it's good and that audiences are going to like it. But it's a little darker.

CS/SHH!: How is Hugh Jackman's interpretation of the character different or new, compared to what we've seen in the "X-Men" films?

Schuler Donner: Well, you haven't seen this side of him. It's darker and sadder and it's kick-ass. There's a ton of action. It's really kick-ass.

CS/SHH!: How was working with Gavin Hood as the director?

Schuler Donner: It was fun. It was good. I like taking someone out of the indie world and bringing someone into the action world because it grounds the movie. It gives it a reality. It gives it an emotional core, and then you can have as much fun and action in it as you want.

CS/SHH!: This was Gavin's first time playing with really big cinematic toys. Was there a learning curve on that for him?

Schuler Donner: Yeah. He had a learning curve, but the thing basically for the director, honestly, it's sort of like, "Here's what I want..." and then the visual FX guys create that. Then it's like, "No. I want it more like this or like that." A director doesn't have to know how to do it. They have to know about lighting and shooting someone against green screen and that sort of stuff, but in terms of actually creating it, we do that.

CS/SHH!: And Ryan Reynolds is playing Deadpool.

Schuler Donner: Yes. Ryan Reynolds is playing Deadpool... he plays Wade Wilson.

CS/SHH!: Is that in hopes of a "Deadpool" spin-off film?

Schuler Donner: I hope so. I really hope so. He's so good at it.

CS/SHH!: Are there any comic book storylines in particular that the movie is drawing from?

Schuler Donner: There's an "X-Men: Origins" that some of it is pulled from, and then it's sort of an amalgamation of some of them. But "X-Men: Origins" sort of goes back into his young, young past, and we started there. [Note: Schuler Donner is referring to the 2001 Origin miniseries by Bill Jemas, Joe Quesada, Paul Jenkins, Andy Kubert and Richard Isanove].

Taylor Kitsch Talks Gambit - Superhero Hype!
Source:A1ant
October 9, 2008

Taylor Kitsch spoke to MediaBlvd Magazine about playing Gambit in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, hitting theaters on May 1, 2009. Here are a few clips:

MediaBlvd> Who did you play in that?

Taylor> I played a character called Gambit. He's just another comic book character that has kinetic energy. It's a fun role. You'll have fun watching it.

MediaBlvd> How familiar were you with Gambit before you got the part?

Taylor> I knew of him, but I didn't know the following he had, and I'm sure I'm still going to be exposed to that. I love the character, I love the powers, and I love what they did with him. I didn't know that much, but in my experience, it was a blessing to go in and create my take on him. I’m excited for it, to say the least.

MediaBlvd> Is it fun to play a superhero?

Taylor> Absolutely! It's a great ride. I had so much fun in Australia.

"Wolverine" Sets Up a Deadpool Spin-Off at WorstPreviews™

MTV News had a chance to speak to 20th Century Fox's Jeff Katz who talked briefly about the upcoming "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" and a possible Deadpool spin-off.

"The film nicely tees [Deadpool] off for his own spin-off film," said Katz, who raved about Ryan Reynolds' portrayal of the wise-cracking mercenary. In Marvel's comic book universe, Wade Wilson (aka Deadpool) is a product of the same "Weapon X" experiments that Wolverine was subjected to by the Canadian government, but the experiments left him disfigured and mentally unstable.

This is not the first time we are hearing about how great Reynolds is in the movie and that a Deadpool film could be in the character's future. 20th Century Fox Chairman Tom Rothman has also previously gone on record talking about just that. And in addition to a potential Deadpool movie, two more X-Men films are currently in the works, "X-Men Origins: Magneto" and "X-Men: First Class."

Splash Page » Hugh Jackman’s Mantra In ‘Wolverine’ Movie? ‘Consistently Bad-Ass,’ Says Former Fox Exec
Sure, any comic book fan worth his longboxes knows that Wolverine is the best there is at what he does — but will his upcoming debut as a solo act in “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” live up to the hype? Former 20th Century Fox exec (and comic book author) Jeff Katz, who returned from the set of “Wolverine” just a few months ago, certainly seems to think so, bub.

“I think it delivers — so I’m not particularly worried about that,” Katz told MTV, only to add exactly why he thinks Logan’s upcoming solo debut will be his best story yet.

“I’m of the belief that you can boil down these characters to a couple of key words, phrases or images that sum up the tone and tenor of what they should be,” explained Katz. “And to me and [Hugh] Jackman, our mantra for Wolverine has really been one term: ‘bad-ass.’ As long as Wolverine is consistently bad-ass, people are generally going to go with you. That’s what they want from that character.”

“Iron Man comes out and it does a tremendous business, Batman comes out and it does a tremendous business, and the inclination in the movie biz a lot of the time is, ‘Well, that thing just worked, so we have to chase that,’” continued Katz. “But as comics people know, Batman is not Iron Man is not Superman is not Wolverine — they’re all different.”

According to Katz, it’s that grasp of comics and their characters that informed production of “Wolverine” from the start, and the exec — who left Fox earlier this year for a project he’ll announce any day now — heaped praise upon Jackman for his appreciation of the ol’ Canucklehead.

“Jackman is an actor who gets the character innately. He understands that he owes his career to that character,” said Katz, who added that he’s dead-serious about “Wolverine” showing a side of Logan that’s considerably darker than anything we’ve seen in the “X-Men” films thus far.

“If you saw that Comic-Con trailer, that bit at the end where he tells [Schreiber] he’s going to cut his goddamn head off,” said Katz, “that is very much Logan’s tone throughout the movie.”

“At the end of the day, it’s a more personal ‘X-Men’ movie. It’s a darker X-Men movie,” added Katz.

The former exec was quick to add that, while Jackman is certainly the star of the show, Logan will be joined by quite a few other fanboy-friendly characters who will vie for audience’s attention — characters who could live on outside of “Wolverine.”

“The dynamic between Jackman and Liev Schreiber is excellent, and ultimately informs their arc together, but the fun of this movie is just to freshen it up and get some new faces, in terms of the characters you’re getting to play with — and it does put a few of them in a position to be explored in other areas,” teased Katz. “It nicely sets up a lot of the places for this version of the franchise to go.”

As for exactly what that direction might be, Katz said his status as a former Fox exec limited his knowledge of the studio’s plans for “Wolverine” and the “X-Men Origins” franchises — but he certainly has some ideas about where Logan could be headed post-”Wolverine.”

“I can’t speak to what’s been discussed in the interim since I’ve been gone, but Mr. Jackman certainly has a desire to go to Japan,” said Katz. “As the single most beloved member of the X-Men universe, I have a hard time believing this is the last you’ll see of Wolverine.”

First Showing - Empire's New X-Men Origins: Wolverine Cover Shot!

November 26, 2008
Source: Empire Online

"There's a scene in the first X-Men movie where Wolverine's introduced in a bar, fighting in a cage, and you felt that he did this every night of his life. If this movie is successful, you should feel that this guy can walk straight off the end of this film and into that bar."

Just in time for Thanksgiving, Empire has debuted the latest cover of the next issue of their magazine. On the cover this time is Hugh Jackman as Wolverine from the upcoming X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

The first trailer will show in front of The Day the Earth Stood Still on December 12th, which means we'll have a lot more to look at by then.

In addition to that quote that Jackman gave above, actor Danny Huston chimed in with a few quotes about his role as the character William Stryker, who is a very important character in the plot.

"The thing about Stryker is that he feels like he's got this God-given right, that he's on a crusade. He both loves and hates mutants, because his son was a mutant and murdered his wife. So he understands what they're going through but despises their force, their potential danger," Huston tells Empire. "In Logan and Creed, Stryker finds his children and hones their powers like racehorses. But as in the world of horseracing, when your horse breaks his leg and is suddenly useless, he has a very cold way of looking at them. And he's also a mad scientist excited by the possibilities of what he can do to mutants."
