Shock Till You Drop - X-Files Sequel Wraps, Cast & Crew Speak
Source: National Post on March 13, 2008
Director Chris Carter, producer Frank Spotnitz and actor David Duchovny recently held a production wrap press conference for the city of Vancouver where the trio have been stationed with a crew lensing this summer's new X-Files film. There, Duchovny explained this display of affection was staged for photographers (uh-huh) and Carter revealed the story picks up six years after the end of the long-running series.
"We're not doing an exercise in nostalgia to appeal to the fans of the show," Spotnitz, who also serves as co-writer, said. "We saw this as an opportunity to introduce the characters to people who may have been too young. It has a reason for being, even if there'd never been a television show before."
ShockTillYouDrop.com paid a visit to the secretive set, we'll have a full report as soon as Fox (not Mulder) gives us clearance to do so.

EDIT: Ser att trailern redan finns i en
Detta tycker jag låter bra.
"In the movie, we wanted it to work for non-fans as well as fans," Spotnitz said. "But we were determined for the fans to honor all the work that these guys did on the series and all the love that people had for the show over the years. And so I think you'll see that, while this not a mythology movie, it's true to everything that's come before. It's true to Mulder and Scully, who they are, where they would be at this point in their lives and all of the experiences that they've had."
Även detta låter lovande, om denna film går bra så ökar möjligheterna för att det kan bli verklighet.
Carter also revealed that he has mulled a movie based on his other TV series, Millennium, which starred Lance Henriksen. "We've talked about that over the years," he said. "Lance would love to do it. I don't know if it would ever get done. It's a long shot. It would be fun. I have ideas about how to do it."

Chris Carter has revealed he is currently arguing with studio 20th Century Fox over the title for his upcoming X-Files film sequel.
Speaking at the 2008 Paley Festival, Carter said: "I know what I want it (the title) to be, but Fox has ideas of their own. I know what it should be."
Carter added that a new film has taken such a long time because he "needed a break from the whole experience", something he describes as "all-consuming".
Discussing the success of the TV series, Carter admitted that he didn't have an overall story arc planned and writers made things up as they went along.
"If you have a series bible, they can give it to somebody else and fire you," said Carter.
Co-writer and producer Frank Spotnitz said the film, which re-unites David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, will be accessible to people that aren't familiar with the TV show.
"It will not be a mythology movie, but it's true to everything that's come before," Spotnitz said.
The X-Files sequel is scheduled for release this summer.

X-Files DVDs Tied To Sequel
Fox Home Entertainment is releasing The X-Files: Revelations on July 8, a new DVD compilation of episodes of the hit TV series related to the theatrical release of the upcoming second X-Files movie on July 25.
The two-disc DVD collection features eight episodes selected by series creator Chris Carter, each of which includes an introduction by Carter and producer Frank Spotnitz saying why it was chosen and how it relates to the as-yet-untitled sequel film.
The DVD set will also feature the February WonderCon panel session with Carter and Spotnitz and stars David Duchovny (Fox Mulder) and Gillian Anderson (Dana Scully) in their first fan convention appearance together in several years.
The eight episodes, which were previously released as part of the show's various season box sets, are "Pilot," "Beyond the Sea," "The Host," "Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose," "Memento Mori," "The Post-Modern Prometheus," "Bad Blood" and "Milagro."
The DVD set also features the sequel's teaser trailer and a free Hollywood Movie Money ticket (valued at $8.50) for the sequel.
The X-Files: Revelations will carry a suggested retail price of $22.98.

New 'X-Files' Photos, Movie Plot Finally Revealed? - Cinematical
After so many headlines across the Internet screaming "New X-Files Photo!" and finding it to be the same broody shot of Mulder and Scully at a desk, it came as a real surprise to find an actual new photo. This comes by way of DVD Forum, who always seem to get their hands on tasty new images (check out a second image after the jump).
This photo is quite intriguing -- ShockTillYouDrop did a set visit where a religious element was mentioned, but with so much smoke and mirrors, it was difficult for them to take anything at face value. Unless Scully is working at a Catholic hospital (and that is a real possibility with her background), then the stained glass back there would back up such a storyline. And it fits with that new I Want to Believe title, doesn't it?
Additionally, our friends at XFilesNews share with us a brand new plot summary coming via the back cover blurb of the novel for the film. To avoid spoilers, we've posted it after the jump. Let us know what you think. Sounds creeeepy ...
The X-Files: I Want to Believe opens July 25th, 2008.
THE X-FILES 2008 MOVIE NOVELIZATION MMPB
by Max Allan Collins
Mulder and Scully are back in the thrilling novelization of the summer 2008 blockbuster movie based on the classic X-Files TV show! When a group of women are abducted in the wintry hills of rural Virginia, the only clues to their disappearance are the grotesque human remains that begin to turn up in snow banks along the highway. With officials desperate for any lead, a disgraced priest's questionable "visions" send local police on a wild goose chase and straight to a bizarre secret medical experiment that may or may not be connected to the women's disappearance. It's a case right out of The X-Files. But the FBI closed down its investigations into the paranormal years ago. And the best team for the job is ex-agents Fox Mulder and Dr. Dana Scully, who have no desire to revisit their dark past. Still, the truth of these horrific crimes is out there somewhere...and it will take Mulder and Scully to find it!

2a bilden känns... inte så Arkiv-X va?X-Files: I Want to Believe - Three New Photos | /Film
Three new images from X-Files: I Want to Believe have shown up online. And one of the photos shows Mulder and Scully getting very… close and personal. But could this new photo be just another entry in Chris Carter’s misinformation campaign? Uh huh. I’m still not quite sure what this movie is about, but I’ll be there opening night.
