"Batman Begins" (Warner Bros.), directed by Christopher Nolan (an Oscar and Globe nominee for his original screenplay for "Memento") and starring Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne and Batman, Michael Caine (an Oscar winner for "The Cider House Rules" and "Hannah and Her Sisters" and a Globe winner for "Little Voice," "Educating Rita" and the TV movie "Jack the Ripper"), Liam Neeson (an Oscar and Globe nominee for "Schindler's List" and a Globe nominee for "Kinsey" and "Michael Collins") and Katie Holmes.
With Nolan having breathed new life into the previously sagging "Batman" franchise and, on top of that, having attracted good reviews for doing so, Academy members could give this consideration that doesn't typically go to blockbuster movies.

ComingSoon.net has posted the full list of nominations for the 78th Annual Academy Awards and Wally Pfister received a nomination for Achievement in Cinematography for Batman Begins.
