After years of being stuck on a lousy flipper, Martin Scorsese's mob masterpiece Goodfellas is finally getting the royal treatment on DVD.
On August 17th, the film that catapulted Ray Liotta to almost-stardom gets some SE appreciation. The new 2-disc package will feature an anamorphic remastered transfer and 5.1 Dolby Digital audio, as well as commentary with director Martin Scorsese and cast members, a second commentary with former gangster Henry Hill and ex-FBI Agent Edward McDonald, and a whole bunch of new documentaries.
On the same day, a selection of other Scorsese films will be squeezed together with Goodfellas for an all-Marty gift box that includes After Hours, Mean Streets, Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore and Who's That Knocking at My Door? Each disc (available separately, too) will also feature a commentary from Scorsese and various cast and crew.
