New Update
Hey everyone!

Been quiet because I’ve been busy. As some of you know we are involved in a lawsuit (we’re the plaintiffs) stemming from Boondock Saints. We’re going to trial soon after years of plodding through the justice system at a snail’s pace. So with that, things are a gettin’ interestin’!

As to the sequel to BDS, “All Saints Day” I will have some VERY GOOD FUCKING NEWS in a few short weeks. I know many of you are frustrated and have waited a long time. But I’ve been on it every day and now we see the light at the end of the tunnel in terms of financing the film and shooting the damn thing! Many of you want to hear about my next project (after the sequel) called “The Good King.” I’m putting together a video thing for that. I had a few local artists do some art work and I’ll walk you guys through the thing. I’ll get to it soon. Keep the faith!

T.Duff

Woohoo!

FirstShowing - The Boondock Saints Sequel Finally Greenlit?!

March 18, 2008
Source: /Film

This isn't really a rumor, but it's standing on rather shaky legs, so until it gets officially confirmed by the studio and actually starts filming, we'll call it "speculation." One-hit-wonder filmmaker Troy Duffy announced in a video on YouTube that Sony Pictures has finally greenlit a sequel to The Boondock Saints. After 9 years since the cult classic first arrived in 1999, apparently a sequel has finally been given the go-ahead. However, as SlashFilm points out, this has been in production hell for years and still might not yet happen, but only time will tell.

Duffy mentions in the video that Sony has given the film a greenlight and that they will begin filming sometime this summer. Sean Patrick Flanery, Norman Reedus, and Billy Connolly were all mentioned as "excited" to return for the sequel, although Willem Dafoe (as far as we know) won't be back. Although Duffy chose to announce this fittingly on St. Patrick's Day, his video was quickly removed, which either means it's not true or they're waiting to officially announce it at a later date.

The Boondock Saints: All Saints Day, as the sequel is called, apparently has been in the works for a while. In 2002, Duffy said that the film had found financial backing and would have twice the budget of the original. However, legal problems delayed the film and its been laying dormant until now. Although the original Boondock Saints only made a measly $30,000 in theaters, it went on to become an immense cult success on DVD and currently sits with a 7.8/10 on IMDb

Quiet Earth - Full synopsis and cast update for Boondock Saints 2: All Saints Day

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

Besides the basic news that Boondock Saints 2: All Saints Day is still alive and well, you'll be very happy to hear that the original cast will also be returning for Troy Duffy's sequel to his own 1999 cult hit. Yep, Sean Patrick Flanery and Norman Reedus have indeed signed on to appear as the McManus brothers. Billy Connolly, David Della Rocco, and Brian Mahoney, all actors who were only rumored to be attached are now confirmed. The story of Boondock Saints 2 is as follows:

"The boys and their father Il Duce have been living in seclusion, deep in Ireland on a sheep farm, away from everything, when Il Duce’s brother comes to tell them that a priest was murdered in Boston and it was set up to look like it was done by the Saints.

The boys rush back to deal with it while their supposedly ailing father stays on the farm. As soon as the brothers land, they start picking off anyone who may be tied to this framing".

I'm intrigued by the revelation that Il Duce is "supposedly" ailing. Does that mean it's an act? Unfortunately, Willem Dafoe is not in the sequel. Apparently a new FBI detective comes into play — a strong southern female - who wants to catch the Saints and is working with some of the detectives in the first movie.
