INVITATION:
Mike Blanchard phoned Philip Bloom] up 3 weeks later to see if [he] could come over and consult about the potential of using video DSLRs for their productions.
5 days staying at Skywalker Ranch as their guest and showing [LucasFilm] how to get the best out of the Canon 5DmkII and the Canon 7D. [LucasFilm] also wanted to be shown how to use the EX3, Letus Ultimate and Nanoflash.
SHOOTING @ SKYWALKER RANCH:
80% of the footage was shot on the 5DmkII at 30p, then conformed to 23.98p in Cinema tools, effectively causing a slight slowdown but as no sync was used this was fine. All the timelapses were done on the 7D apart from the first star one. Some shots of the mist on the lake were done on the 7D too in 23.98p mode. I found them indistinguishable in the edit.
LIVE-ACTION SERIES INFO:
[LucasFilm] were also looking at new ways to shoot the much anticipated “Star Wars” live action TV series. [LucasFilm] wanted to see how well the 7D and 5DmkII stood up with this in mind.
Not necessarily shooting on these cameras but you never know, with a few mods and tweaks and the ability to connect that Nanoflash up to the 5dmkII or 7D.

starwars-universe.com: Could you tell us what you work exactly is?
Jonathan Bach: I am a concept artist and work in many capacities with many different parties in order to bring ideas from words to images. Sometimes I'll work freely in order to provide ideas to a client who is still forming a loose picture of a project, while at other times if a project is further along I'll provide visual solutions to meet specific requirements whether that be from a director, production designer, art director, etc.
starwars-universe.com: How many time did you work with Lucasfilm? What can you say about the Star Wars Live-Action Project?
Jonathan Bach: I was fortunate enough to work for Lucasfilm for about 2 years (until the end of 2009). Working on the show was an incredibly rare and exciting opportunity and I am extremely grateful to have contributed to the deep mythology that is Star Wars. The live-action series is still in development and of course as such I can not give any details. However, I will say that it is quite different than anything that has come before it in the Star Wars universe and will certainly be worth the wait.
starwars-universe.com: Thank you for answering my questions.
Jonathan Bach: Thank you so much to you and the loyal fans that have been following along with the show's development.
Här under kan ni se lite Concept Art av denne Jonathan Bach. Ingen spoiler, men som sagt. Bilderna är stora och enkla att gömma.

TV Guide: And where will that live in the Star Wars continuum relative to Clone Wars and relative to the films?
Lucas: Well, Clone Wars has got all the characters in it — Yoda and Anakin and Obi Wan and the Emperor and all that — so it's basically the movie. The live-action [series] is not the movie. It's the Star Wars universe, but it's characters from the saga who were [previously] minor, and it follows their stories. It's set between [movie episodes] III and IV, when the Empire has taken over. It's like Episode IV in that the Emperor and Darth Vader are heard about — people talk about them — but you never see them because it doesn't take place where they actually are. There are storm troopers and all that, but there are no Jedis. It's different, but I think it's very exciting because I get to explore a part of that universe that I haven't been able to explore. Once you have a saga, it's got a lot of requirements because it's about a particular [thing] — in this case, Darth Vader — and so it's his story from the time he's 10 to the time he died. You really can't go off that track because that's the story. Whereas now, I can make a left turn on 10th Street and go down there and see what's going on.

The Kessel run? Kryddgruvorna i Kessel?

If and when the Star Wars TV series is made, a large part of it will be shot in the Czech Republic, according to producer Rick McCallum,...
“The TV series is on hold, but that has nothing to do with the Czech Republic; it has to do with [the episodes being] so ambitious,” McCallum told Czech Position. “We have 50 hours of third-draft scripts, but the problem we have is there is a lot of digital animation; we don’t have the technology yet to be able to do them at a price that is safe for television. Since we would be financing them, it would be suicide for us to do this [now]. So we are going to wait three or four years,” he said.
McCallum did reveal some of the basic storyline in the finished scripts. “It takes place between episodes three and four, when Luke Skywalker was growing up as a teenager, but it has nothing to do with Luke,” he said, adding that there is no young Luke Skywalker in any of the episodes. Episode three, “Revenge of the Sith” covers the time up until Luke’s birth. Episode four — the original “Star Wars” released in 1977, later called “A New Hope”— finds Luke at the start of his involvement with the Rebel Alliance.
“Basically, it is like ‘The Godfather’; it’s the Empire slowly building up its power base around the galaxy, what happens in Coruscant, which is the major capital, and it’s [about] a group of underground bosses who live there and control drugs, prostitution,” McCallum said.
