IMDb: Jack the Giant Killer (2012)
Bryan Singer's Jack the Giant Killer gets a mythic 1st trailer | Blastr
Despite being attached to more projects you can count on one hand—a Battlestar Galactica re-reboot, the Munsters pilot, a remake of Logan's Run—Bryan Singer hasn't offered up a single frame of a film that he himself shot in years ... until this first look at his epic take on Jack and the Beanstalk.
Jack certainly looks like it has scope and scale, and X-Men: First Class' Nicholas Hoult looks perfectly hapless as the boy who doesn't care for his magic beans—which seem to come with as many rules as mogwai. ("Don't get them wet!")
Plus, it's got Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides' Ian McShane as the king, and he automatically makes everything 22 percent better.

Here's the plot to Jack and the Giant Killer, which opens June 15, 2012:
Jack the Giant Killer tells the story of an ancient war that is reignited when a young farmhand unwittingly opens a gateway between our world and a fearsome race of giants. Unleashed on the Earth for the first time in centuries, the giants strive to reclaim the land they once lost, forcing the young man, Jack, into the battle of his life to stop them. Fighting for a kingdom, its people, and the love of a brave princess, he comes face to face with the unstoppable warriors he thought only existed in legend-and gets the chance to become a legend himself.
