We've got the full story crunch for Universal's The Wolfman! Seven and Sleepy Hollow scribe Andrew Kevin Walker laid the foundation by supplying the script. Later, David Self (Road to Perdition) came in for a rewrite. Based on the synopsis below, it appears Walker's story is intact. We're just not sure exactly what contributions Self made to the material. Look for the film in theaters on April 3, 2009 from director Joe Johnston.

Inspired by the classic Universal film that launched a legacy of horror, The Wolfman brings the myth of a cursed man back to its iconic origins. Oscar winner Benicio Del Toro stars as Lawrence Talbot, a haunted nobleman lured back to his family estate after his brother vanishes. Reunited with his estranged father (Oscar winner Anthony Hopkins), Talbot sets out to find his brother...and discovers a horrifying destiny for himself.

Lawrence Talbot's childhood ended the night his mother died. After he left the sleepy Victorian hamlet of Blackmoor, he spent decades recovering and trying to forget. But when his brother's fiancée, Gwen Conliffe (Emily Blunt), tracks him down to help find her missing love, Talbot returns home to join the search. He learns that something with brute strength and insatiable bloodlust has been killing the villagers, and that a suspicious Scotland Yard inspector named Aberline (Hugo Weaving) has come to investigate.

As he pieces together the gory puzzle, he hears of an ancient curse that turns the afflicted into werewolves when the moon is full. Now, if he has any chance at ending the slaughter and protecting the woman he has grown to love, Talbot must destroy the vicious creature in the woods surrounding Blackmoor. But as he hunts for the nightmarish beast, a simple man with a tortured past will uncover a primal side to himself...one he never imagined existed.

Composing legend Danny Elfman will be scoring Universal Pictures' The Wolfman, according to AICN. Elfman is the genius behind the music in BEETLE JUICE, SCROOGED, THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS, THE SIMPSON'S, SPIDER-MAN, TALES FROM THE CRYPT, ARMY OF DARKNESS and countless others.

First Showing - Joe Johnston's Wolf Man Delayed Until Fall of Next Year?!

The horror hounds over at Fangoria claim to have learned that the highly anticipated Wolf Man film due out next year has been delayed. It was originally scheduled to hit theaters on April 3rd, but they claim that it has been pushed until "sometime next fall." Maybe around Halloween per chance? It's a bit sad, plus slightly worrisome, to hear that we've got to wait a lot longer to see it in all of its glory. As far as I know, they finished shooting the whole thing much earlier this year, so why are they delaying it for so long?

Until we get some confirmation, this is only just a rumor at the moment.

Ser bra ut. Det här ser jag fram mot. För någon anledning så är Wolf Man det ända av de klassiska film monsterna som aldrig har fått en remake sedan orginalet 1941 så det här var på tiden. Och efter att ha sett trailern så verkar filmen trogen orginalet förutom att den går bortom det (alltså fortsätter efter orginalets slut) vilket nog var tvunget eftersom orginalet var en aning kort.
Visst, de har ändrat lite på historian med brodern men hans öde förklaras aldrig i orginalet mer än en jaktolycka.

Som sagt, det här ska bli intresant.

Hoppas de har med den klassiska Wolf Man themen. "DAA da Daaa."
Och att silverkäppen med varulvshuvud också är med.

Sneglade lite som hastigast på trailern (brukar vanligtvis ej se trailers då de oftast avslöjar alldeles för mycket - jag blir hellre överraskad )

There's yet more trouble in Wolfman land - composer Danny elfman is no longer working on the film.

Despite an enthusiastic thumbs up from current director Joe Johnston when he signed on to write the score, Elfman is now off the project, with the official release talking up "scheduling issues".

While that's a possibility, Cinemascore did a little digging and discovered that Elfman had in fact completed an entire set of tracks for the film, which will now be likely consigned to the dustbin of history.

In his place? Er… Paul Halsinger, former Tangerine Dream member and composer for those horror classics Underworld, Prom Night and Crank. Which likely means the producers are aiming for a rockier, more contemporary feel for the music, much like the most recent trailer.

We're sad to see Elfman go - and we really want to hear that score - but it's just the latest issue for the film, which has seen directors, script drafts and release dates come and go.

This latest twist doesn't exactly increase our confidence for a great movie, but we'll have to wait until next February to find out if it survived..

Taylor Lautner Fan Letter To Universal: Your Wolfman Ripped Off Twilight

"To whom this may concern:

This movie was a complete waste and I feel that it offends ALL Twilight Fans around the world, that including myself. For one, it was a COMPLETE remaking of the Wolf Pack from the Twilight Saga: New Moon. It gives the werewolves a bad name and makes them look like some deformed mutation of a rabid dog. I actually started to like werewolves after seeing Jacob Black and all his awesomeness on the big screen at the movies. That was until I saw your crappy remake of what you call to be a "were wolf". I don't see how you live with yourself for making it the way you did. If I made this movie, I would be ashamed to even admit that I owned it. How can a werewolf be killed with a silver bullet? Better yet, have you saw the transformation of the man that is "supposed" to be the wolf? He sits in some chair and his entire body turns in to some mutated freak. If you would watch the transformation of Jacob Black, (Taylor Lautner) he doesn't come close to looking as fake, cheap and or mutated as the wolf man. You tell me, who looks to be the better werewolf. Your stupid Wolf Movie didn't even make the top Movie for the charts; Valentines Day WITH TAYLOR Lautner! Get that this is MY oppinion and I felt I wanted to express it because I saw that your email was on your site. I wanted to let you know this is what i thought of the wolf man that sucks.
