Empire: Movie News - Karl Urban Is A Bloodsucking Bastard
In the movie, Priest. Obviously.

Karl Urban, legend, has been cast as the villain in Priest, Scott Stewart's vampire Western follow-up to his eagerly anticipated apocalyptic thriller, Legion.
Like Legion, Priest will star Paul Bettany, as a warrior priest living in a world dominated by bloodsucking fiends, who teams up with Cam Gigandet's sheriff and Maggie Q's priestess to find his niece, after she's kidnapped by Urban's band of vampires.
Urban's character, a former priest turned vampire and general nutjob, is called Black Hat, after the grand old Western tradition that the good guys wear white hats, the bad guys black. We can't decide whether that's wonderfully knowing, or horribly on-the-nose, but we'll give Stewart the benefit of the doubt, based entirely on that six minutes of Legion footage that did the rounds at Comic-Con.
Although his most famous roles, Eomer in (two-thirds of) the LOTR trilogy and Bones in Star Trek, are very much white hat jobbies, Urban has shown in the past, with turns in The Bourne Supremacy and The Chronicles Of Riddick, that he can sneer and snarl and elicit boos from the back row with the best of them, so we have no problems with this piece of casting. No problem at all.
Priest – based on a TokyoPop comic-book – will start shooting next week in LA.
Och efter lite grävande så hittade jag det här:
Empire: Movie News - First Shot Of Paul Bettany As Priest
Don't sin, because he'll make you repent

It may not be in cinemas for a whole year yet, but Sony is getting prepared for the arrival of Priest, by launching a brand new website, featuring the first shot of the serious man himself - Mr Paul Bettany.
Check out the brand new shot of Bettany as Priest.
The film, taken from a TokyoPop comic of the same name, will be directed by Legion's Scott Stewart and follows the cold-faced clergyman as he attempts to find his missing niece who has been siezed by vampires amid a war between humans and the blood-sucking fiends.
Priest, also starring Cam Gigandet in a completely non-typecast turn, is due on screens on August 13, 2010.

We have exactly one year to see what Sony's adaptation of "Priest" will look like, but we can start to imagine the movie a little clearer now that Asian-American actress Maggie Q has been cast. You know her from such blockbusters as "Live Free or Die Hard," "Mission: Impossible III" and our favorite Paul Rudd-starred Hong Kong action movie, "Gen-Y Cops." According to The Hollywood Reporter, Q will reportedly fill out a trio of vampire hunters also consisting of Paul Bettany and "Twilight" actor Cam Gigandet.
Since this movie version seems to have very little to do with the plot of Min-Woo Hyung's comics, it's not clear what character, if any, Q's role is based upon. All we know is that she's a priestess every bit as tough as her male counterparts, such as Bettany's titular hero, who she joins to kick some vampire butt while helping him find his kidnapped niece.
Of course, as Gigandet told MTV News recently, there aren't actually vampires in the movie. They're merely "vampire-esque creatures."
As far as marketing and financing is concerned, however, we bet Sony would rather the world keep thinking this is another entry into the very popular bloodsucker trend. The adaptation has also recently been called "The Searchers" meets "Blade Runner," by director Scott Stewart, who is following his feature debut "Legion" with this second collaboration with Bettany.
Considering those are two of my favorite movies, I've got some high expectations for "Priest," probably higher than should be had. But now that we at least know we'll get to see Maggie Q in action once again, I think I'll at least be able to enjoy some of this thing.
