Zack Snyder, regissören till bl.a. 300 och Watchmen, har fått jobbet att regissera nästa filmversion av Superman. Detta bekräftas av sidor som SuperHeroHype och SupermanHomepage samt ett flertal tidningar. Los Angeles Times skriver:

Snyder has shown a flair for kinetic hyper-reality and he says that in recent days he finds that he “lays awake at night” thinking about the ways to present a Man of Steel who flies across the skylines of a city called Metropolis. He declined to talk about the story or the casting — “He has to be a man … that’s as far as I’ve gotten” — but he said the film production will target a holiday 2012 release.

Christopher Nolan spelar en gudfadersroll i projektet, där han producerar tillsammans med hustrun Emma Thomas och skriver manus tillsammans med David Goyer. Snyder kommer att påbörja arbetet med Superman så snart han är klar med postproduktionen av sin senaste film Sucker Punch.
